The Perioperative Fellowship is a 6 - 9 month specialty training program that Main Line Health offers to train experienced Acute Care Nurses to become Operating Room Nurses. This program is facilitated by MLH Operating Room Clinical Nurse Educators and is supported by unit preceptors, coordinators, and managers. Acceptance into the program requires a full-time transfer to one of the Main Line Health Operating Rooms:

Clinical Expectations:
As a RegisteredNurse in the Perioperative Fellowship Program, you will learn both the circulating and scrub role as you rotate through specialties including: General Surgery, Urology, Orthopedics, Neurology, Plastics, Vascular, Robotics, etc. You will build on basic skills as you follow didactic modules to match your weekly goals. Nurses will also attend in-services and staff meetings. At the end of the course, all participants must sit for the Periop 101 exam. (You may be required to purchase some educational materials, such as a textbook.)
Schedule:
Fulltime, Monday - Friday: 7:00am - 3:30pm
Off-shift rotations occur later in orientation to experience different shifts as well as Buddy-Call
Must live within 30 minutes of Hospital or be willing to stay onsite when on Call.
Your permanent schedule following orientation is TBD, based on campus needs.
