What you'll be doing:
As a Maintenance Technician 2 you will perform preventative and spontaneous maintenance on conveyors, electrical motors, material handling equipment, skill saws, propane torch, man-lift, hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, grinders, electrical test equipment and ladders as well as lift equipment jacks, chargers, and batteries.
In your role, you will perform general building maintenance including overhead doors, construction repair, roll carts, floor repair and second level gates, doors, etc... You will perform light plumbing maintenance and perform carpentry assignments as needed.

What you bring to the table:
A mechanical aptitude, knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, pneumatics, and ability to learn to read blueprints/schematics including electrical schematics
Ability to use vendor manuals and procedures to perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting tasks
Ability to be trained and MHE certified to operate power material handling equipment, i.e. Forklift, Electric Pallet Jack, etc.

JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Associate repairs and maintains the facility, equipment, performs both reactive and preventative maintenance, and performs minor improvements to equipment and the facility. This position supports all production and supports staff and management in maintenance duties as requested.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Repair, maintain, and troubleshoot all production and facility equipment and systems.
Systems include electrical, mechanical, plumbing, heating, and air conditioning systems.
Monitors to ensure all utilities and production equipment are running properly and efficiently through assigning, tracking, and performing preventative maintenance.
Perform welding and machining tasks.
Perform PLC troubleshooting.
Assist engineering with projects.
Responds promptly to calls for production and utility equipment malfunctions and ground maintenance.
Troubleshoots, investigates various facility and production equipment systems and repairs as required.
Operates various types of power lift equipment and performs overhead work.

SUPERVISORY SKILLS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Must be able to read and understand verbal and written instructions and other directives or documents as job duties require (testing or other aptitude verification may be required).
Associates degree, Journeyman, or related coursework and/or experience preferred.
One (1) to Three (3) years of relevant maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The Maintenance Associate job requires many physical demands such as: walking, sitting, climbing, lifting, twisting, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50lbs. There is the possibility of maneuvering doors and heavy equipment with limited movement in some work areas. Ability to stand 8 - 12 hours.
The Maintenance Associate's work environment includes normal factory conditions with climate control. This Associate is required to work in the production areas of the plant. There is minimal noise and vibration levels. There is the possibility of exposure to different types of chemicals (refer to SDS in the area), moving objects, moving mechanical parts, sharp tools, and minimal lifting.

How you'll contribute

Under close supervision, the Facilities Maintenance Worker I is responsible for learning Goodwill's infrastructure, systems, and facilities, using tools and equipment, and a wide variety of practices and procedures to perform general maintenance, remodel and renovation of all facilities owned or leased by Licking/Knox Goodwill Industries. This includes, but is not limited to, technical maintenance, repair, installation, alteration, and construction activities involving carpentry, plumbing, roofing, painting, mechanical, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and HVAC installation, and electrical trades work.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required. Industrial or trade school graduation or certification is preferred.
Valid Driver License with a clean driving record to be able to be insured by our company.
Must be able to pass BCI background check and pre-employment drug test which includes THC.
Minimum of one year of full-time experience in construction, maintenance, and/or facilities systems, including the use of hand and power tools.
Skills:
Able to use construction mathematics for determining slope, calculating square footage, etc.
Knowledge of OSHA, ADA and Ohio Department of Motor Vehicle laws and regulations.
Maintain files and documents. Prepare reports and correspondence as required.
Ability to meet driving standards and travel to sites throughout Central Ohio.
Must have the physical ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, twist, stoop, squat, and reach as required to complete the job. Be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.

Requirements to be a Maintenance Technician
Maintenance Technicians will maintain scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on, but not limited to: HVAC, elevator, fire and sprinkler equipment, generators, landscape, kitchen equipment and emergency pull cord equipment.
