Overview:
The Solar Electrician has an Electrical Journeyman license and is the most experienced field position which performs both electrical and mechanical services. The Solar Electrician primary objective is to ensure that all equipment serviced, operates at the highest level while providing leadership and training to other field positions.
As the Solar Electrician, you will:
Demonstrate integrity, initiative, work ethic, as well as a commitment to safety and quality on all tasks assigned, on a continuous basis.
Complete all safety training as required by the company.
Ensure that all safety policies and procedures, related to any work performed, have been reviewed and understood before work begins.
Attend and participate in weekly safety meetings.
Oversee, provide direction, and training to Solar Technician 1 and Solar Technician 2 working in the area.
Ensure that all required Personnel Protective Equipment has been received, inspected and utilized in accordance with applicable safety policies and procedures.
Perform Preventive and Corrective Maintenance on solar, energy storage and EV charging installations in accordance with MN8 and OEM standards.
Troubleshoot solar, energy storage and EV charging installations efficiently, determining the root cause and correct repair required to place the equipment back into service.
Complete all assigned task safely, correctly and in the allotted time.
Ensure all provided vehicles, tools, equipment, electronics, and parts are accounted for, well maintained, free of damage, properly stored and.
Accurately complete all required documentation, checklist, timecards and photography for work performed.
Complete all other duties and task which may be assigned by direct supervisor.
Our Ideal Candidate will have:
High school diploma or equivalent.
State issued Electrical Journeyman license.
Must be able to pass a criminal background and motor vehicle record check.
Ability to communicate in English both orally and writing

Required to have visual acuity which includes depth perception, field of vision and the ability to distinguish between colors.
Ability to work in outside environments which may include but are not limited to, extreme heat (temperatures above 100℉) or extreme cold (temperatures below 32℉) for periods of more than one hour.
Exerting up to 60 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 40 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Other Requirements:
Drive up to 6 hours per day to reach and return for project locations
Travel up to 50% of the time outside of the service area.
Work outside, in the environment up to 90% of the time, performing Preventive and Corrective Maintenances.
Work in a fast-changing environment which may require quick decisions with limited processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
Process Operation (75% of Role)

Required Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Associate or Bachelor's degree in a science-related field with 2+ years of production experience.
OR completion of an approved technical training program (e.g., automotive or motorcycle repair, pump maintenance).
Experience:
At least 5-10 years of experience operating industrial equipment, preferably in a chemical, food, or related processing environment.
Mechanical aptitude, with experience in pumps, chillers, and vacuum systems.
Familiarity with chemical or food processing, printing press operation, or applied chemical/food engineering is highly desirable.
Skills:
Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints.
Proficient in using hand and power tools.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), Outlook, and other relevant programs.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Once the CNC system fabrication work is complete and tested, the CNC Electrician/Installer will be responsible for breaking down and packaging the components for transport, with guidance from our Shipping Coordinator.Jobsite (field installation) duties will include the removal of existing Electrical Cabinet and/or electrical components, as well as the installation and wiring of the CNC retrofit package. Activities will include tying in machine IO (e.g., limit switches, proximity switches, sensors), mounting servo motors and gearboxes, checking servo motor phasing and runout. Throughout the assembly and installation process, the CNC Electrician/Installer will be required to support the Project Engineer to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical quality issues.Training will be included, installation of robotics and additive solutions may also be included.

This position reports to the Director of Facility Operations at our building in Hamden CT. Standard work hours are 6:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday. Overtime is on Fridays. There are times where work is needed to be performed through lunch and breaks to get machines up and operational. The break or lunch will be taken once machines are running correctly. There are times where work is needed to be performed outside of these normal business hours and the expectation is that the maintenance department will do the required hours and work to complete the necessary tasks. Almost all work done will be completed indoors but the maintenance department is required to maintain the exterior of the building and all company land and property.

What We Offer
The Shift Maintenance Electrician is responsible for supporting and promoting all company goals including an injury free work environment through safe work practices. The incumbent evaluates, diagnoses, analyzes, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs electrical (& mechanical) functions of the extrusion process including but not limited to, all electrical equipment, instrumentation and electrical / computerized process control systems. The incumbent while also working with minimum supervision, will support the manufacturing facility and operations in a variety of troubleshooting, repairs, installation and operational tasks associated with electrical and controls equipment (& mechanical) operation and performance.
Major Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, maintain and repair of all related electrical equipment & electrical instrumentation in areas of responsibility;
Responds to equipment breakdowns and returns to operation as expeditiously as possible to minimize equipment downtime & production losses;
Interprets information from various test equipment, documentation and verbal information from operations with respect to a given problem to expedite repair of equipment;
Responsible for installing, improving or modifying electrical, controls and instrumentation equipment as requested;
Provides project support to electrical, instrumentation and electrical control systems projects as necessary;
Interacts and works with engineering, construction services and manufacturing personnel in a team environment;
Be involved in continuous improvement and reliability improvement processes;
Responsible for testing, calibration, and preventive maintenance (PMs) of electrical equipment and instrumentation;
Maintains accurate records of electrical systems and tests, calibrations and PM (Preventative Maintenance) performed;
Improves personal knowledge of electrical systems and equipment operation in effort to improve quality and efficiency, reduce equipment downtime and minimize need for outside services;
Maintaining strong safety awareness and knowledge of plant electrical processes and safety procedures;
Promotes an injury-free work environment;
Responds quickly to avoid and correct unsafe conditions and maintains equipment to ensure safe operations;
Performs interactive safety training, and always wears all required personal protective equipment (PPE);
Performs appropriate Lockout/Tagout Procedures for all machinery and equipment repairs including troubleshooting problems with existing and new installations;
Maintains good housekeeping practices within area and participate in department safety and housekeeping activities.

What You Offer
Basic Qualifications:
Possess a minimum of a high school or trade school diploma
Possess a State Electricians License (State of Massachusetts preferred) with completed electrical apprenticeship program
Minimum of 1 year of industry related electrical experience or minimum of 3 years of commercial electrical experience
Experience working with 480V / 3 Phase systems
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
Should possess solid industrial mechanical skills to complement electrical skills;
Be able to spot electrical equipment deficiencies, malfunctions and breakdowns, diagnose, troubleshoot and repair deficiencies;

The Electrician will participate in the installation or maintenance and inspection of electrical systems and associated processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Regular attendance at assigned location; may include A/Z office or other project site;
Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows blueprints, insuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings and flooring;
Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit, using such tools as hacksaw, pipe threader and conduit bender;
Oversees or participates in wire installation with conduit and cable trays;
Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit-breaker panels, fastening in place with screws or bolts, using hand tools and power tools;
Connects power cables to equipment, such as motor, and installs grounding leads;
