Job Description
This is a Full-Time, 1st Shift position with no weekend requirements. This position ensures that all electrical work complies with safety codes, hospital policies, and healthcare regulations, supporting a safe and reliable environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited electrician apprenticeship program or technical school strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of electrical experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare facility.
• Strong knowledge of electrical theory, NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and healthcare-specific regulatory requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Proficiency with electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or elevated areas.
Skills/Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoot and repair hospital equipment and building electrical systems to minimize downtime and disruption to patient care.
• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
• Install and test new electrical equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA, ACHC, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements.
• Assist with emergency power systems, including generators and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, to ensure readiness.
• Respond promptly to electrical service requests and emergencies.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and inspection records.
• Collaborate with biomedical, facilities, and other hospital departments to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Recommend improvements to enhance energy efficiency and system reliability.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, testing devices, and protective equipment.
• All other duties as assigned.
