Respond promptly to maintenance requests, guest concerns, and urgent service needs. Diagnose and repair a wide variety of in-unit issues, ensuring all work meets company quality standards. Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and proactively resolve them. Coordinate with vendors when specialized repairs or services are needed. Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent. Ensure properties remain in excellent condition for guest arrivals and owner stays. Support the KBM Resorts Big Island team as needed with occasional after-hours or weekend work. Qualifications Prior experience in residential, hotel, or commercial maintenance preferred. Strong technical skills across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general handyman tasks. Ability to troubleshoot effectively and problem-solve independently. Primary Responsibilities: * Responsible for the operation, maintenance and installation of the electrical systems on a seafaring vessel. When electrician work is not required the individual shall perform deck work as directed, as well as preservation, cleaning, maintenance, fabrication, upgrade/expansion, and repair duties. * Additional duties shall include riding the ocean-faring vessel during all at-sea missions to participate in all at-sea operations including performing deck and rigging tasks, cooking, cleaning, conducting rounds, standing watch, participating in firefighting operations, and performing emergency repairs. Minimum Requirements: * Active SECRET Security Clearance required.     The Electrician, Maintenance is responsible for performing installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of shipboard and shore-based electrical systems that support the client's vessel and related range operations. This position ensures that all electrical power distribution, lighting, control circuits, and communication systems remain operational, safe, and compliant with the client's and National Electrical Code (NEC) standards. The Electrician works both independently and as part of the vessel's engineering team to ensure power reliability for propulsion, auxiliary, and test support systems. The Electrician performs preventive and corrective maintenance on AC/DC systems, panels, switchboards, transformers, circuit breakers, and electronic support equipment. This role involves working in both in-port and at-sea environments to identify electrical faults, perform repairs, conduct load testing, and document all maintenance in accordance with the Preventive Maintenance Plan (PMP) and Maintenance Summary Log (MSL). By ensuring power reliability and system safety, this position plays a critical role in maintaining mission assurance for range support. This position performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Cayuse. Responsibilities Ensures safe, continuous, and reliable operation of all electrical power and control systems aboard the vessels skilled preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities in compliance with client standards. Install, maintain, and repair shipboard electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and auxiliary circuits. Inspect wiring, panels, switchboards, outlets, and fixtures for signs of wear, overload, or damage. Diagnose faults using test equipment such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and circuit analyzers. Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC systems, generators, motors, transformers, and electrical control devices. Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical panels, junction boxes, breakers, and cables per the PMP schedule. Perform load testing and insulation resistance checks to verify system integrity before and after maintenance. Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics in accordance with client's standards. Assist with electrical power requirements for range operations, including power-up and shutdown procedures for the vessel. Document all maintenance actions, parts used, and test results in the Maintenance Summary Log (MSL) per contract deliverables. Comply with all safety procedures related to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), electrical isolation, and hazardous energy control. Support at-sea operations and emergency drills, including firefighting, damage control, and power restoration exercises. Ensure all work adheres to OSHA 1915, NEC, and OPNAVINST 5100.19F electrical safety requirements. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent required. U.S. Coast Guard-Approved Basic Firefighting Course (or refresher within the past five years). U.S. Coast Guard-Approved Able Bodied Seaman Course (may be completed prior to or within 45 days of hire) USCG Medical Certificate (CG-719K) with Food Handler Certification (Section II) attested by a licensed medical practitioner per OPNAVINST 4061.4A Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an electrician in a shipboard, marine, or industrial maintenance environment.
