Knowledge of NFPA70E is required Must have skill in the care and use of hand tools and equipment necessary to perform various electrical repair tasks such as hickeys, volt meters, wiggins, meggars, and VOM's. Skill in locating and adjusting defects in electrical systems and equipment. Skill in the operation of earth moving equipment, aerial equipment, and pneumatic equipment. Ability to distinguish between the full range of colors in the color spectrum to work with electrical wires. Ability to use graphic instructions such as blueprints, schematic drawings, layouts, or other visual aids. Ability to lift at least 50 lbs for a long distance of more than 20 feet. Ability to make precise arm-hand positioning movements (i.e., operates an electric hand drill); to physically lift arms above shoulder level to work in ceiling areas, on light fixtures; must be able to work in small, cramped areas such as ceiling crawl spaces, equipment enclosures, closets. Ability to work at heights greater than ten feet. Ability in making mathematical computations. Ability to exercise independent thought and action within the scope of specific assignments. Ability to comprehend and make inferences from written materials. Ability to measure distances with a tape measure or other measuring device. Ability to climb ladders or steps to reach work areas. Must have the ability to remain in a standing position for extended periods of time. Ability to travel across rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces. Ability to work in extreme weather conditions. Must be able express ideas on technical problems clearly and concisely orally and in writing in the English language.
