Responsibilities:
Thorough knowledge of the methods, procedures and policies of the Park as they pertain to the performance of duties the Ride Electrical Maintenance Manager. Is knowledgeable in the laws, ordinances, standards and regulations pertaining to the specific duties and responsibilities of the position. Is able to help ensure departmental compliance with all laws and regulations and control the activities of the department through effective supervision. Has knowledge and skills in the areas of electrical / electronics maintenance and repair including PLC's, Motors, Drives, Switches, Sensors.
Plans, schedules and supervises the electrical maintenance of Park rides.

Receives and responds to inquiries, concerns and complaints from associates and guests regarding ride safety and maintenance.
Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, other Park managers and staff, subordinates, guests, vendors, contractors, consultants, engineers, manufacturer representatives, third party and State inspectors, etc.
Provides technical assistance in the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of rides as necessary.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (4 year College or University) required.
5 - 7 years related experience, specifically in Electrical Engineering and Electrical Maintenance/Controls preferred.
Requires the ability to compare and/or judge the readily observable functional, structural or compositional characteristics (whether similar to or divergent from obvious standards) of data, people or things.

Duties
The Environmental Services Department is currently seeking to fill multiple full-time Industrial Electrician vacancies in the Wastewater Management - Energy & Automation division. These positions are located at the RWF (700 Los Esteros Road, San Jose, CA 95134). The RWF is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Day shifts are typical for these positions with scheduled hours occurring Monday through Friday. Infrequently, Industrial Electricians may be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays if needed. Upon completion of the probation period, employees may elect to work a flexible work schedule such as ten-hour days scheduled over four days per week or an alternative work schedule consisting of nine-hour days with one day off every other week.
Industrial Electricians perform journey-level electrical work in relation to the construction, maintenance, installation, inspection testing, repair, and alteration of electrical power generating plant machinery/equipment, substation machinery/equipment, and other electrical machinery/equipment/systems found at the RWF. In addition, these positions perform related work as needed.
Key responsibilities and typical duties include but are not limited to:
* Maintaining, operating, and adjusting electrical primary power substations ranging from 4160 to 115kv, including circuit breakers, relays, batteries, and controls.

**Who We Are:**
Energy Operations (EO) is responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of Stanford's Central Energy Facility (CEF) and campus distribution systems, as well as the new Stanford in Redwood City Central Energy Facility.
CEF provides electricity for the majority of the university's main campus via a 100MW substation, which is about twice the current campus load. Electricity at the substation is transformed from 60 kilovolts (kV) down to 12kV, which can then be distributed as high voltage electric power to campus.
The campus electrical distribution system is a largely underground system of 12kV and 4kV cables and switches. Typically, power from multiple sources is brought into individual buildings after being stepped down to 480 volts. Load centers within the buildings step the voltage down to normal service voltages and distribute it to loads throughout the building, with backup emergency power available for all vital loads.
The Energy Operations team manages installation, operation, and maintenance of the electrical distribution infrastructure. A Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system provides real-time information and diagnostics of the campus to monitor the power flow throughout the network, allowing for quick response to system faults.
**Job Purpose:**
Employees in this classification perform journey level and high voltage electrician work involved with the installation, maintenance, operation and repair of the electrical substations, electrical distribution systems, and general low voltage utility controls under general supervision. Assignments can be received in the form of work orders, blueprints, sketches, verbal instructions or employees may be expected to schedule their own work, determine work priorities. At this level employees are expected to diagnose problems independently and determine the appropriate method and procedure needed to complete the work. Working with the Lead and co-workers, the HV Electrician Specialist is expected to ensure that the work specifications conform to shop standards. **Education & Experience:**
