Responsibilities: Provide support for various assessments, inspections, and fleet technical assistance as tasked via separate correspondence. Provide electrical technical assistance, assessment, inspections, corrective actions, and groom support as tasked for cognizant shipboard auxiliary systems equipment. Specialized experience shall be demonstrated in troubleshooting and assessment of mechanical auxiliary equipment, in the official capacity of a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a US Navy Engineering Activity, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), or industrial/commercial equivalent. The selected Marine Electrical Technician 1 candidate will support PM, working closely with our skilled trades teams, on surface ships, utilizing various tools of the trade, removing, installing and upgrading industrial systems and equipment. Selected candidate will be required to travel to shipyards and military bases located in the Tidewater Area, around the country and abroad, for durations up to 75% of the time when not assigned to a local task. Per Diem provided, based on location, when on travel. Travel and lodging expenses are covered by the company. * Weekend and/or overtime hours required depending on contract awards and support required as per trade/skill set. What You Will Do * Display levels of quality, integrity, safety, respect, engagement, and performance consistent with company values. * Under guidance, Install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify equipment and structures by performing alterations and installations for fleet modernization on US Navy surface ships. * Apply understanding of production processes towards completion of complicated and non-routine tasks related to installations on shipboard systems and related equipment at company, and/or field locations in accordance with established quality and safety procedures. * Work from blueprints, engineering sketches, charts, work orders, technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports and task or trip reports. * Assist with troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment to efficiently eliminate problems. * May inspect completed work for conformance to specifications. * Maintain effective supervisor and manager communications and relations. * Remove, plan, execute, install, and modify electrical cable, cableways, conductors, connectors, strain relief, fasteners, and equipment aboard naval vessels. * Complete electrical and data conductor disconnections and reconnections on existing and new equipment for a complete installation. * Complete Quality documents necessary for reporting and verification of the work performed. What You Must Have… * Must have a High School High School diploma, or Trade School or equivalent, and 2 years of related shipboard electrical shipboard experience. * Must be able to obtain a DoD security clearance and maintain clearance level throughout employment. * Must be able to obtain base access credentials within 60 days of start date and maintain them throughout employment. * Must be able to travel between 50% - 75% when not assigned to local tasking. * Must provide hand tools and trade specific PPE per trades designation. * Must have experience working in a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with others. * Must have experience assisting with troubleshooting, maintaining, installing, and repairing electrical distribution systems and its associated equipment and cabling. * Must have experience with cable removal and installation including the proper methods of opening and securing various types of cable penetrations. * Must be able to work under instruction removing, installing, and modifying electrical cable, cableways, conductors, connectors, strain relief, fasteners, cable penetrations and equipment aboard naval vessels. * Must be familiar with reading electrical drawings and schematics. * Must be familiar with the proper and safe usage of multimeters and meggers.
