Working Procedure: Installs, adjusts, calibrates, troubleshoots, tests and repairs all electrical, electronic and instrument equipment and systems throughout the plant. Reads and interprets technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and any other type of technical documentation. Uses rigging and welding equipment incidental to the performance of the craft. Maintains a high standard of housekeeping and observes all safety procedures. Follows good engineering practices to maintain a high level of quality workmanship. Performs related work on high voltage switchgear and distribution systems. Plan detail of working procedure to determine material replacement needs and selects logical approach to "troubleshooting" and repair problems. Answers trouble calls. Make sketches of parts and layouts. Design, and constructs adaptations and conversions of component parts. Lubricates equipment in accordance with standard instructions. Check oil levels with gauges provided on equipment and prepares lubrication reports. Changes oil as necessary. Tears down, replaces, repairs, and reassembles scales. Checks scale periodically and maintains scale accuracy within State prescribed limits. Operates power truck, other mobile equipment, and cranes, in performance of the job. Completes required records, reports, requisitions, and surveys. Fabricates parts as required using machines and hand tools common to the trade. Climbs on buildings, towers, and mill equipment to make inspection, repairs, and installation. Dismantles and rebuilds all major rotating electrical equipment, motors, motor generator sets, etc. Performs safety electrical lockout for all plant personnel. Understands general electrical, electronic and instrument system practices and principles and applies these principles in every day maintenance and repair activities. Wage 20.00 - 22.50 hr/ DOE Duties and responsibilities Assemble, install, and test electrical components Follow service guides, schematics and manufacturer specifications Repair or replace defective components Perform basic electrical parts preparation work Reassemble and test equipment after equipment repairs are completed Perform basic electrical truck chassis preparation Clean work area Other duties as assigned Qualifications A general understanding of mobile electronics required Must be able to correctly identify color-coded components Have good verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of various electrical connectors Basic hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge preferred Previous experience with car stereo/security installations preferred Read a tape measure Ability to use basic hand tools, drills & air tools Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds when moving heavy items such as large spools of electrical wire and boxes of components, and be able to sit, stand, crouch and kneel Must be self-motivated and able to stay on task with good attention to detail Must maintain a clean and organized work environment Must have reliable transportation for work commute Must be 18 years of age or older Tools are provided Other 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Opportunity to make additional wages with overtime Additional Information Shredfast, Inc. offers medical, dental, vision, 401k, vacation hours and company sponsored events.
