Must have verifiable, formal training in electrical theory and safety. Certificate showing completion of state of Connecticut or other apprenticeship program preferred. E-2 not mandatory, but a plus. Knowledge of PLC programming, troubleshooting, and repair necessary. Rockwell Automation SLCS00 a plus. Understanding of industrial motor control, AC/DC, including invertor drives, holding circuits, and overload protection. Capable of troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and wiring of basic electrical components such as relays, starters, motors, drives, and switches. Able to read and understand electrical diagrams and schematics. Use of common electrical tools such as multi-meters, strippers/crimpers, EMT benders, and threaders. Able to mechanically disassemble and assemble basic machine components with common hand tools. Must be safety conscious, organized, neat, and able to work alone or as a team member. JOB SUMMARY This position performs and coordinates the installation and service of electrical products and services in a residential and light commercial setting * Advanced Training * Tool Accounts * Paid Uniforms * Company Vehicle * Full Time Position * Weekends Required * On call Required JOB DUTIES * Installation, repair, and maintenance of residential and commercial electrical equipment and services * Determines general condition of all electrical equipment, can troubleshoot electrical malfunctions, and determine the extent of necessary repairs * Works with and understands blueprints, electrical schematics and job specifications as it applies to your craft * Identify proper materials and material quantities for new and existing repair projects * Use the Straightforward Pricing Guide, accurately present repair or installation options, and complete safety inspections * Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures to ensure compatibility and safety of system. * Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes. * Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment. * Wear floor savers while working in client homes. * Inspection of area for cleanliness after job completion. * Maintains company vehicle, ensuring cleanliness and organization, both inside and out. * Always maintain a professional image MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * 3+ years of residential electrician experience * High school diploma or equivalent * Background check and drug screening * Clean driving record * Ability to communicate effectively to clients about issues and provide accurate solutions
