PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Instruct clients in the safe, effective and efficient maintenance, operation, inspection, and/or troubleshooting of airframe and powerplant systems.Instructional duties, in accordance with established procedures, including: Classroom preparation to suit training requirement for in-person learning or remote training. Develop a variety of approaches and training materials, as appropriate, in order to address different learning requirements aligned with the respective training delivery.Administering course examinations in alignment with regulatory requirements.Establish effective methodology for testing students understanding of training material deliverables.Maintain up-to-date and accurate client records of student enrollment and achievements and any other records as required.Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for technical courseware development / revision, as required for Level 1/2/3 Type courses:
A320 (V2500, CFM56), A220-100/300 (PW1500G), A330-200/300/200F (RR Trent700, CF6), A340-500/600 (RR Trent500), A380 (EA GP7200), and B777-200LR/300ER/F ( GE90).Engine Ground Run (EGR) Simulator Instructor ( A320, A330, A220-100/300, A330-200/300/200F, A340-500/600, A380, and B777-200LR/300ER/F)

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 10 years aviation maintenance experience.Minimum of 3 years experience on aircraft of primary assigned program.Type approved on Boeing and\or Airbus commercial aircraft ( B777-200LR/300ER/F ( GE90), A320 (V2500, CFM56), A220-100/300 (PW1500G), A330-200/300/200F (RR Trent700, CF6), A340-500/600 (RR Trent500), and A380 (EA GP7200) for Airframe and Powerplant combinations as applicable and possess equivalent certifications, or equivalent experience.Qualified/experience in delivering Engine Ground Run Simulator training for B777-200LR/300ER/F ( GE90), A320 (V2500, CFM56), A220-100/300 (PW1500G), A330-200/300/200F (RR Trent700, CF6), A340-500/600 (RR Trent500), and A380 (EA GP7200) aircraft types.Excellent presentation & interpersonal skills.Certified in Instructional Techniques for the Virtual Classroom.Master of Science degree or equivalent.Posses a valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence or equivalent.Computer & knowledge of internet applications (including Word, PowerPoint & Outlook). Must be able & willing to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.

Additional Desirable Qualification/Experience:
Electrical and/or Avionics Systems knowledge and/or experience.Experience with aviation regulations pertaining to aviation training (including foreign Regulatory Agencies; particularly EASA and/or Transport Canada) Courseware development or instructional design experience.Able to work legally in CanadaAble to communicate effectively with stakeholders in English.Able to promote a positive safety culture Able to effectively develop tangible goals and objectives for student development.Able to direct student learning in a positive, supportive and fair learning environment Able to work on their own or within a team.Experience with working within a multicultural fast paced environment.

* Starting hourly rate is $54.80 p/h, subject to a collective bargaining agreement.

Job overview and responsibilities

Maintenance Instructors conduct classroom and practical training at maintenance bases, line stations, supplier base stations, and other facilities including but not limited to, providing technical knowledge and practical instruction for the safe maintenance, repair, and operation of aircraft and aircraft systems as related to maintenance, ground equipment, tools, and test equipment according to established procedures.

* Maintenance Instructors conduct classroom and practical training at maintenance bases, line stations, supplier base stations, and other facilities including but not limited to, providing technical knowledge and practical instruction for the safe maintenance, repair and operation of aircraft and aircraft systems as related to maintenance, ground equipment, tools, and test equipment according to established procedures.
* Maintenance Instructors also analyze technical information, develops training programs to meet established objectives, writes, edits and produces materials for technical instruction, and develops and administers technical examinations where appropriate
* Instructors provide technical leadership and guidance to various Technical Operations group
* Conduct formal aircraft systems classroom training
* Review technical data and manual revisions to stay current with procedures
* Will be using training aids such as iPad's, computer-based training aids, and Virtual Maintenance Training (VMT) simulation

Required

* High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
* FAA A&P License
* Extensive technical knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance operations, and applicable FAA regulations
* Training development skills
* Minimum of five (5) years aircraft maintenance background with a part 121 carrier or equivalent military experience
* Must be 18 years' old
* Valid US driver's license (revoked, suspended or expired are not considered valid)
* Must pass a 10-year background check
* Must be willing to take a pre-placement physical abilities test, hearing and vision tests, and drug screen
* Must be willing to work occasional off-shift/weekend work
* Candidate must be able to clear a fingerprint-based criminal history check in order to obtain and retain credentials necessary for the position
* Position-specific clearances include but are not limited to FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal service clearances
* Approximately 10-30% domestic travel

Key Responsibilities:

+ Instruct commercial engine heavy maintenance (B1/B2/B3 Level) training, including PurePower Programs (PW1000G), to internal PW customers and external airline customers at the Customer Training Center (CTC) and on-site at the customer's worldwide locations and MRO facilities. Areas of instruction include, but are not limited to, PW1000G heavy maintenance training, engine specific familiarization training, line & base maintenance, jet engine fundamentals, borescope, engine change, FOD, and human factors training.

+ Support the commercial training team as a subject matter expert (SME) and act in the capacity as back-up instructor for specifically selected P&W engine models.

+ Additional responsibilities include designing courseware in accordance with the P&W CTC Instructional Systems Design (ISD) Process, evaluating course material for content and accuracy, and recording quality escapes to support ACE requirements. The elected candidate will also be responsible for fielding customer requests and directing customers to appropriate P&W support personnel.

Basic Qualifications:

+ Associates Degree in field of jet engine maintenance.

+ 5+ years of technical experience in commercial engine maintenance at both the A1 (line & base maintenance) level and B1/B2/B3 (heavy maintenance) level preferred.

+ US Citizenship required due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Human Factors and FOD expertise and experience a plus.

+ Commercial engine systems & troubleshooting experience a plus.

+ This position will require some travel to domestic and international sites, typically 2 weeks at a time, accounting for up to 10-20% travel.

+ The desire and ability to work with customers from all cultures is essential.

+ Must have the desire and patience to work with adult learners.

+ Should be self-motivated and have a positive personality.

+ Prior teaching experience a plus.
