Maintenance lead person job description

While reporting directly to the Dept Manager, the following job description outlines the essential functions of each level of role within the Maintenance department. The following lists are not exhaustive, and the employee in each of these roles is expected to assume any and all duties assigned by management irrespective of whether such duties are specifically included in the following.
Daily Tasks:
Demonstrated a willingness and ability to work in safe manner complying with all established safety guidelines and procedures. Includes but is not limited to Energy Isolation, Hand Safety, Hot Work Permits, Fall Protection, Confined Spaces, Personal Protective Equipment, Electrical Safety Work Practices, Powered Industrial Trucks, Hazard Communication, Machine Guarding and other safety policy/procedures.Performs installation, modification, calibration and repair of electronic and electrical instrumentation, equipment, and control systems.Inspects, repairs, and performs electric and mechanical overhauls on all equipment such as VFDs, open and closed feedback servo loops, servo motors, pneumatic and hydraulic components, motor control center devices, conveyor systems, and packaging and processing equipment.Troubleshoots and repairs motor control centers, electro-mechanical drives and sub-electrical panels using volt-ohm-amp meters, oscilloscope, and mergers.Performs machine shop duties such as grinding, drilling, light metal fabrication, welding, and machining.Must be available for emergency call-in work Assist in moving plant equipment Perform work with minimal supervision Interprets and ensures compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and calculates line leads to determine HP, watt, current, voltages, wire, conduit, fuse and equipment sizes and capacities.Install, maintain, and/or repair low voltage such as the paging system, fire alarms, warning horns Maintain and test sprinkler systems both wet and dry systems Coordinate and direct the activities of outside contractors when in the facility Complete tasks with very little or no supervision needed Assist in developing capital project requests and implementation Oversees work of assigned maintenance team employees.

Required Skills:
Strong Mechanical AptitudeMust be Forklift experienced Computer proficient High School Graduate or equivalent Strong communication Various hand tools Knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.Ability to identify issues and to determine repairs that are needed.Strong supervisory and leadership skills.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as needed to complete reports, logs, and inventory.

Physical Demands:
Standing 8 Plus hours per day.Inside conditions, extremes of heat (up to 100 degrees in the summer) humidity, noise from production machinery (below 85 DSP).Hazard Exposure can include energy isolation, moving machine parts, fork truck traffic Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed.Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.

Seasonal Full Time roles are eligible for the above, plus:

Performs routine, emergency, and preventative maintenance on a variety of utilities (gas, water, sewer, electrical), commercial kitchen, and building electro-mechanical systems and equipment. Show the abilities to perform these tasks in an unsupervised environment. Must have and use good common sense and decision making in the face of adverse electro-mechanical failures.

Responsibilities Include:
• Perform maintenance on pumps, filters, tanks, and pipes associated with a domestic drinking water system
• Perform maintenance on building heating and ventilating systems and controls
• Perform maintenance on commercial kitchen cooking equipment
• Perform Maintenance on commercial refrigeration equipment
• Assist in the trouble shooting and diagnose problems with building electrical systems
• Must be self-motivated and able to manage a seasonally high work load.
• Exhibit strong customer service skills
• Work with Mountain Services Coordinators to facilitate purchasing necessary materials to perform tasks.
• Lead for up to 5 building maintenance team members, reports to Building Maintenance Manager


Qualifications:
• High School graduate or equivalent - required
• Would prefer three years’ experience or more in the HVA/C & R or Plumbing trade.
• Must have a working knowledge of operating a DDC (direct digital control) system and the use of a computer based work order system. - required
• Read, write, speak English - required
• Valid state issued driver's license - required

About the job

This position is accountable to facilitate, lead and provide support and direction for all activities related to achieving the Reliability Excellence (REX) target state at Warrick Operations. The principal challenge is to provide project management skills and leadership in support of the Leadership and Focus teams implementing REX. This position is also the principal contact with Asset Management CoE at both regional and global levels.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide project management support and leadership to Massena teams as we undertake the REX journey.Act as the principal contact with CoE and Asset Management experts Support and coordinate activities and communication between plant focus teams and leadership team. Facilitate, support and encourage communication and sharing between teams at Alcoa Warrick.Coordinates and communicates all initiative activities with all levels of the organization ensuring that assignments resulting from focus and leadership teams activities are completed in a timely manner.Facilitates leadership/focus team meetings as vital.Maintain the overall REX gap action plan for Warrick.Ensures that accurate correspondence is generated for all meetings and compiles program status, issues, barriers, and progress to objectives, goals and milestones met.Monitor, analyze, and communicate REX initiative results in the form of standard reports, business unit updates, monthly reports, or other forms as vital.Leadership and provide direction in the area of Operational Excellence and OEE implementation at the Warrick facility.Be an agent of change through the REX journey.Be a quick leaner of the target state, take findings and teach each role in our maintenance organization their role and demonstrate (walk the walk) how to run our organization applying the new tools and systems.Backfill for multiple positions in the maintenance organization (Maintenance Process Flow Leader, Engineer Leader, Lead Planner and the Maintenance Manager)
