ABOUT THE ROLE
We are a U.S. based manufacturer with over 30 years of quality production experience and facilities in Los Angeles, CA and Charlotte, NC. We are expanding our footprint with a new manufacturing facility in Irving, Texas. We are seeking a MaintenanceManager to build, lead, and mature the maintenance function at the site.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for establishing preventive maintenance discipline, equipment reliability, and maintenance documentation that support safe, efficient, and scalable manufacturing operations. This role is critical to supporting Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) principles and ISO-type compliance expectations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance Leadership & Execution
• Lead day-to-day maintenance activities supporting a multi-shift manufacturing operation
• Build, schedule, and develop maintenance technicians and contractors as the plant ramps up
• Serve as the escalation point for complex troubleshooting and equipment failures
• Promote a strong safety culture within maintenance activities
Preventive Maintenance & Reliability
• Design, implement, and continuously improve a structured preventive maintenance (PM) program
• Utilize a CMMS to plan, schedule, track, and document PMs, corrective work, and asset history
• Reduce unplanned downtime through disciplined execution of maintenance standards
• Support mold maintenance, mold changeovers, and mold installation activities
Equipment, Utilities & Technical Support
• Troubleshoot and support electrical, PLC-controlled, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
• Support installation, commissioning, and ramp-up of new equipment and automation
• Ensure reliable operation of plant utilities including electrical distribution, compressed air, water, and air systems
• Partner with operations to improve equipment uptime, OEE, and asset life
Documentation & Compliance Readiness
• Develop and maintain maintenance-related documentation including:
- Preventive maintenance procedures
- Equipment service and repair records
- Mold maintenance and changeover documentation
- Technician training and competency records
• Ensure maintenance practices align with GMP principles and internal standards
• Support preparation for ISO or customer audits related to equipment maintenance and reliability
• Promote traceability, consistency, and accountability in maintenance activities
Systems & Continuous Improvement
• Own and administer the site CMMS, including asset setup, spare parts management, and reporting
• Partner with operations and engineering to align maintenance systems with production needs
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, and cost reduction
• Share best practices with maintenance teams at other company facilities as appropriate
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
• 3+ years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong hands-on technical background in industrial maintenance
• Working knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems
• Demonstrated experience implementing or operating within a CMMS environment
• Ability to build structured, repeatable maintenance processes
Preferred
• Plastics manufacturing experience (injection molding and/or blow molding)
• Automation experience
• Exposure to GMP- or ISO-aligned manufacturing environments
• Experience with major equipment installations
• Spanish language skills (a plus, not required)

Summary:

Essential Functions of the Job:
Lead all maintenance activities for aseptic processing, packaging, and supporting equipment to ensure high uptime, product safety, and regulatory compliance.
Establish and execute preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance programs.
Drive root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement permanent corrective actions.
Own asset reliability metrics including OEE, MTBF, MTTR, downtime, and maintenance cost performance.
Partner with Operations and Quality to support aseptic integrity, CIP/SIP systems, and hygienic design standards.
Provide technical ownership and oversight of plant utilities, including:

Ensure all applicable licenses, permits, inspections, and certifications are maintained and audit ready.

Assess current technician skill levels and identify gaps relative to equipment complexity and utility systems.
Coach, mentor, and develop maintenance technicians and supervisors to raise overall technical competency.

Participate as a member of the site leadership team, supporting plant goals and continuous improvement initiatives.

Provide supervision, direction, and guidance to all maintenance associates to ensure that service requests are delegated appropriately and completed accurately.
Update, execute and document preventive maintenance schedule.
Perform regular property inspections of grounds, buildings, and common areas to maintain safety and cleanliness standards- identify issues, hazardous conditions, or other maintenance needs within the community and correct or report to the Community Manager.
Oversee and schedule all aspects of the make-ready process to ensure apartments are ready for occupancy. This includes but is not limited to move-out/move-in inspections, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, appliance repair, and preventive maintenance.
Work with Community Manager to prepare the property's budget for maintenance operations, recommended property upgrades, and capital improvements. Ensure that maintenance costs remain within the approved budget.
Partner with the Community Manager regarding all aspects of the employee lifecycle - recruitment, hiring, orientation, training and development, and performance management for the maintenance team.

About the Role:
As a MaintenanceManager, you will be a key player in providing leadership and strategic direction for the production maintenance group, at the Carrollton, TX, plant, a manufacturer of quality refrigerated dough products.

This position requires considerable interaction with plant floor personnel, leadership team, engineering, external support, and vendors.
Supports the role of Project Manager for annually allocated capital budget to help grow business, improve operational efficiency, and improve site infrastructure and support site safety and quality projects.
