What You'll Do:
Champion Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with OSHA/MSHA and Vulcan standards. Comply with all Safety, Health, Environmental, and other Company policies, procedures, and requirements.
Manage Team. Direct the activities of some repair and maintenance personnel. Assist with training, scheduling, assigning tasks, and evaluating performance. Ensure each employee's time is accurate and charged to the correct cost account.
Repair and Maintain Equipment. Assist with some repair planning of mobile equipment. Ensure that all equipment is maintained in accordance with Vulcan Materials Company and Equipment Maintenance System guidelines. Ensure repairs are made in a manner that will provide maximum equipment availability at an acceptable cost.
Monitor Costs. Continually evaluate employee performance and the effectiveness of the repair and maintenance program to look for opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate. Work closely with Central Services, equipment vendors, and manufacturers to ensure that all mobile equipment is repaired and maintained correctly. Coordinate mobile equipment repairs and maintenance with the supervisors at other plants plant to ensure the availability of the necessary equipment for efficient production.
Maintain Records. Maintain mobile equipment repair and maintenance records through the Equipment Maintenance System and other methods.
Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.
Skills You'll Need:
Education. Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent.
Experience. Must have 5 years of heavy equipment repair and maintenance experience.
Functional Knowledge. Must have a strong knowledge of shop waste products, their impact on the environment, and their proper disposal.
Interpersonal Skills. Must have the ability to motivate and effectively accomplish tasks through delegation and teamwork.
Flexibility. Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.

Maintain ongoing training programs in all areas of manufacturing maintenance and assist in developing new programs that will improve productivity, quality, and safety.
Remain aware and trained in all technical advancements in the area of responsibility

The job will normally work Monday through Friday with normal business hours; however, this position is responsible for an operation that run 24/7 and will often require evening and weekend work to oversee the operations. Area is not climate controlled, and subject to extreme temperatures especially around the melting area. Other areas have numerous chemical tanks and require respirator use in batch area. Other areas the floors are very wet and require care when walking and working around.

Coordinate daily maintenance operations, including conducting morning and afternoon huddles, assigning routine maintenance tasks, and providing on-site supervision and field support as needed.
Lead, train, and mentor maintenance staff, including Team Leads and Supervisors, ensuring effective communication and operational excellence.
Monitor employee performance, attendance, and timecards, and take corrective action or make recommendations for improvement as needed.
Work closely with Branch Manager to develop, publish, and implement Maintenance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Capture and document historical knowledge into handbooks or reference materials and continuously review procedures for efficiency and safety.
Oversee purchasing and inventory management for maintenance supplies and consumables. Coordinate with the vendors and suppliers to ensure materials are properly stocked and organized across shop and driver locations.
Collaborate with Branch Manager and Customers to resolve service or repair issues, ensuring timely input and tracking maintenance tasks in Service Core.
Respond and coordinate repairs for customer emergency maintenance calls, to include after hours and weekends.
Manage production scheduling for proprietary systems such as Sea-Cans, Hoplites, and Pump Houses, as well as special event load plans and other project-based work. Coordinate onboarding of new equipment and oversee the execution of special projects as assigned.
Direct the turnaround process for rental equipment, including cleaning, inspection, repair, and invoice preparation. Maintain organized yards and facilities at all AMERI-CANS locations and ensure preventative maintenance schedules are followed for all company equipment in accordance with all policies and procedures.
Oversee general maintenance operations, including shop, yard, and vehicle cleanliness, as well as facilities maintenance.
Enforce all safety policies and ensure compliance with waste disposal and material handling regulations. Develop and implement safety programs, inspect facilities and equipment, and coordinate maintenance and repairs as needed.
Conduct installation of waste and water systems on construction trailers (trailer city).
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Essential Functions:

Education and Experience:
Any combination of education and experience demonstrates the required skills and knowledge for successful performance.
Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience.
Minimum 5 years of mixed experience in a mechanical or maintenance-related industry to include electrical systems, plumbing and carpentry.
Forklift experience (Preferred)
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES:
Ability to obtain and maintain all required certifications, licenses, and registrations for the position, including:
DOT Health Certification
Valid Driver's License
Must maintain a clean DMV record.
Skills Required:
Strong mechanical aptitude; ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to climb ladders, lift heavy objects, and work around cleaning products and repair equipment.
Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and exercise sound judgment.
Ability to enforce safety rules and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and safety procedures for waste materials handling.
Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty satisfactorily. This role requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods; use hands and fingers; and stoop, crawl, bend, twist, reach, and crouch as needed.
