PLANNER/SCHEDULER, REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE, Facilities-Repair and Maintenance, to support the maintenance program, campus-wide, and serve as a liaison between the maintenance teams that support 150 buildings within the campus portfolio consisting of approximately 13m GSF. Will review, analyze, and change equipment preventative maintenance needs across campus; focus on increasing the reliability of Facilities' equipment data; and establish appropriate tasks for mechanical, electrical, fire alarm, fire suppression, piping, and plumbing equipment by ensuring preventive and predictive maintenance practices and principles are developed, implemented, and monitored. Will work under the direction of the senior maintenance planner/scheduler.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a high school diploma or its equivalent; at least five years of trade or engineering experience; in-depth understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices and principles; extensive practical experience managing a preventative maintenance program with the planning and coordination of trade labor; familiarity with all types of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, piping, and fire alarms systems; experience using a maintenance planning system (preferably SAP); meticulous attention to detail; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and comfort working in/on chases, rooftops, penthouse mechanical rooms, and electrical spaces. PREFERRED: associate's or bachelor's degree and experience using Excel spreadsheets, including pivot tables. Job #21816-8Working conditions: ascending/descending stairs; traversing the campus; moving about the jobsite and machinery to access equipment; remaining stationary for extended periods of time; and working from ladders, scaffolds, and other above-ground locations such as roofs; wearing of personal protective equipment as required by the specific assignment; exposure to dust, odors, and fumes, high levels of noise, and temperature extremes; working near steam and moving machinery, in tight areas and confined spaces such as manholes and crawl spaces, and with and around chemicals and solvents; performing duties in research labs and animal facilities and outdoors in inclement weather.The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 7:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.; but must also be available for off-hours emergencies and standby supervisory coverage on a rotating basis on weekends and holidays.MIT will conduct a background check (including Checking Criminal Records) for finalists.9/8/22

Job Description

Albemarle Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to work within our Pasadena, TX plant. This position reports to a Maintenance Superintendent and is responsible for planning and scheduling jobs from workorders received from the Operations Maintenance coordinator as well as system generated preventative maintenance orders. This role supports detailed and thorough job plans utilizing SAP for efficient execution in the field.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Improve work force productivity and quality thru detailed job plans.Work with Production on understanding job request.Walk down jobs to identify job requirements.Identify any potential safety hazards that may need to be addressed in job planning and execution.Establish required work force skills needed to execute job plan.Establish required work hours for each line of operation and total hours.Establish tools and equipment needed for job plans.Develop required materials needed for jobs and work with expediter or enter requisitions to procure needed parts.Work with kitter or kit parts for effective job execution.Assemble job packets for the work force including any procedures, work orders, MOC's, drawings, etc.Develop and maintain schedules.Assist with entering work order history and improving job plans.Assist with managing workorder backlog.Review and submit needed BOM updates.Develop reoccurring job plans.

Required knowledge and skills include but are not limited to:
Strong working knowledge in maintenance planning.Knowledge of tools, PPE, scaffolding, insulation, etc.Capable of troubleshooting mechanical and process issues.Knowledge and use of SAP as the tool used for planning and scheduling.Knowledge of Prometheus preferred.Understanding of P&ID's, schematics, and equipment drawings.Knowledge of expediting, scheduling, and job kitting.Knowledge of fixed and rotating equipment.Knowledge and understanding of good engineering practices and principles.Use logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, and approaches to solving equipment problems.Ability to listen and understand information and ideas and to express thought and ideas clearly and concisely through oral and written communication.

Education and Experience:
Approximately 10 years' experience in a maintenance role with at least 5 of those years in a planner/scheduler role.HS Diploma or equivalent.Good communication skills at all levels of the organization.Independent self-starter with results-oriented focus.Common knowledge of Windows driven programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Teams, Outlook.SAP work order system is preferred.Prometheus platform for planning and scheduling is preferred.

+ Prioritizes maintenance and repair projects to minimize production downtime, while assuring safety and quality.

+ Executes the governmental regulatory compliance including reporting requirements.

+ Builds and fosters strong working relationships, collaboration other department supervisors and managers.

+ Provides informal guidance to team members.

+ Responds to employee questions and concerns.

+ Ensures work is accomplished in a safe manner and the workplace is free of safety hazards.

+ Implements plant safety programs to ensure compliance and a safe working environment.

+ Leads and executes the departments quality systems to achieve quality goals.

You Have At Least (Required Qualifications):

+ 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, production planning, or other relevant experience.

+ 1+ year of experience leading, mentoring, and/or delegating work to others.

+ Technical expertise, knowledge and understanding of computerized inventory principles, materials management, production management, transportation, OSHA regulations and customer service needs
