* Directs the activities of a group or team of shop employees involved in TrinityRail Maintenance Services production, repair, or material handling process in order to meet Company quality and safety standards with production schedules, in the most cost effective manner.
* Supervise general hourly employees, welders, painter, plant clerks, etc.
* Work under the general direction of a plant superintendent, plant manager or other plant superintendent, plant manager or other plant management position.

* Updates Regional Manager daily of the following:
* Planned man-hours on the aircraft that day
* Man-hours expended on previous day plan VS actual and variance
* Percentage of routine and non-routine items open and completed
* Areas that may affect the release date of the aircraft to include parts, engineering and lengthy elapsed time work orders
* All items which exceed or are approaching their estimates
* Assists Regional Manager to coordinate with all support groups to ensure they are supporting the aircraft schedule including checking the status of certain jobs with the support shop; billing the service order within established goal of 5 days after aircraft departure.
* Coordinates line inspections to ensure the plan is followed and during delivery ensures paperwork accountability
* Communicates with management from other shifts to assure smooth shift turnover
* Conducts employee meetings / Shift Briefings/ weekly system wide conference calls to inform employees of important work issues
* Ensures technical and OJT training is provided to employees as needed and employee attend training classes as scheduled; conduct formal and on-the-job training as authorized by the HAECO Training Department.
* Performs administrative functions including:
* Audit paperwork
* Tool box inspections
* Check tooling log for proper usage
* Assure mechanics are assigned to correct jobs with no unassigned time
* Assure parts are available for aircraft and shortages are resolved
* Regularly works with sensitive or confidential information and must ensure it is safeguarded to protect employee, customer and vendor requirements.
* Performs other work as needed to support successful line maintenance operations, including special projects.
* Participates in aircraft investigations to help find root causes and develop corrective actions.
* Performs periodic station self audits for compliance to operating procedures.
* Provides timely notification of aircraft status to local customer personnel and maintenance control.
* Ensures all Customer and HAECO inventory (includes Hazmat and shelf life items) are properly maintained to Customer and HAECO standards and all required parts are ordered and tracked
