Position Summary

2. Performs or assigns work to repair and maintain mechanical equipment, including heating and air conditioning. Diagnoses problems. Disassembles units, cleans, lubricates, repairs, and replaces parts. (20%)
3. Performs or assigns routine to difficult carpentry duties, including installation of new doors and installation or repairs of doorjambs, moldings, hinges, door closers, locks, knobs, etc. Also, may include drywall or plaster repair and painting duties. (10%)

We are currently seeking Mechanical Systems Servicers for Weekend shift positions to work in East Hartford, CT. Weekend shift hours are Friday-Sunday 6:00AM-6:00PM . Training will be on 1st shift for 90 days.
You will be an integral part to the continued success of Pratt & Whitney's renowned engines. In this role, you will not only help to build our components but you will be creating them!
Key Responsibilities:
+ Under direction of supervisor, follow instructions and drawings to determine material requirements, plan sequence of operations, obtain required support services as applied to heavy machinery together with knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, vacuum and servo-systems. Ability to work from drawings and schematic diagrams, read technical material of some complexity, use mathematics through trigonometry. Use precision measuring instruments and equipment to verify machines and equipment for accuracy tools and equipment to carry out assignments. Check to assure equipment and supplies are available when required.
+ Perform equipment installations, maintenance and repair work and carry out preventive maintenance and service as required.
+ Assists MTS team on projects that involve the care, use and maintenance of tools and equipment while maintaining safe working practices.
+ Perform similar duties throughout the facility within the scope and skill level of this job description.
+ Assist other trades working on joint projects where common skill crossover provides the opportunity for shared responsibilities and more effective use of available skills.
+ Refer difficulties to Leader/Supervisor.
+ May be required to train for, obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits and certifications within assigned trade
Basic Qualifications:
+ High School diploma, Technical School or equivalent is required
