Kelly is seeking a maintenancesupervisor to join a high-output manufacturing site in Clinton, NC that produces rendered fats and protein meals, along with other by-product streams. This MaintenanceSupervisor will lead the day-to-day maintenance function to keep equipment reliable, reduce downtime, and support safe, consistent production.
This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. You'll spend time on the floor supporting the team, coordinating work, and responding to equipment needs.
This is 2nd shift and you'd typically work 2:30p-12:30p Mon-Fri and work a rotational weekend schedule. On weeks where you work weekends, you would receive between 20-30% salary incentive based on how many hours.
Pay is between $80k-95k salary. You will oversee up to 25 technicians. Would train on first shift for about a week.
What you'll be responsible for
Lead and develop a team of Maintenance Mechanics and Electricians (coaching, training, accountability, and performance support).
Own reliability: preventive/predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and continuous improvement to improve uptime and efficiency.
Plan and schedule maintenance in partnership with Production; prioritize work orders and ensure the right resources are in place.
Drive root cause problem-solving on equipment failures and recurring issues-implement corrective actions that stick.
Maintain documentation and compliance: accurate work records, parts usage, inventory controls, and adherence to USDA-related requirements.
Track and communicate performance using KPIs such as equipment reliability, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), and contractor/vendor performance.
Step in when needed to ensure continuity during coverage gaps or urgent events.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related) and 2+ years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prior experience leading others (formal supervisor or lead role-training, coaching, mentoring, or running a process/project).
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment.
Solid communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Flexibility to support off-shifts, extended hours, and occasional weekends as needed.
Preferred / nice-to-have
Experience with any of the following: ammonia refrigeration, high-pressure boilers, compressed air, PLCs/instrumentation, mechanical/electrical troubleshooting.
Familiarity with CMMS/work orders, preventive/predictive programs, TPM, and maintenance planning/scheduling tools.
Proven leadership strengths: conflict resolution, decision-making, delegation, and change management.
Bilingual skills.

Required Qualifications

Experience managing maintenance teams and supporting autonomous manufacturing teams as they deliver continuous improvements.
Experience managing P.M. (Preventative Maintenance) practices.
Proven track record coaching, mentoring, and motivating and managing employees' skills development.

During production runs, the schedule transitions to a 2-2-3 day shift as needed (12-hour day shift (7a.m.-7 p.m.) following a 2-2-3 rotation (two days on, two days off, three days on, alternating weekly)). Schedule provides every other weekend off
• This position is designated as essential to site operations, as such the employee may be required to report to the facility or remain on-site during certain operational or emergency situations to ensure business continuity.
• On-call availability may be required to support urgent operational needs.
• Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the role, including occasionally lifting to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Regularly works in environments with exposure to machinery, noise, and physical hazards. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times.
The anticipated salary for this position will be $35 to $48 per/hour. The actual salary offered for this role at commencement of employment may vary based on several factors including but not limited to relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, education (including applicable licenses and certifications, job-based knowledge, location, and other business and organizational needs.
