General Accountability:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading/monitoring a robust maintenance program through focused efforts to establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and driving maintenance excellence. This position will be based in Washington, NC, reporting directly to the Business Unit Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage daily activities of Maintenance Team; set goals, monitor progress, offer coaching & training, support development, and evaluate performance
- Manage operating budget for the Maintenance Department, including labor, contractors, machine parts, maintenance supplies, building supplies, energy consumption, and inspection and licensing fees
- Prepare and manage annual CAPX budgets
- Develop both long-term and short-term capital plans and ensure that all projects are planned properly and the results achievable. Monitor projects to make sure deadlines are achieved, and that funds are properly utilized
- Ensure adequate parts and supplies are maintained, establish thorough supply procurement and inventory control system, and safeguard materials.
- Ensure all maintenance processes are completely documented, and implement any changes to these processes
- Ensure that safety and security measures are in place for the facility
- Ensure all regulatory requirements pertaining to waste disposal, emissions, facility permits, and codes are met and file with the appropriate Federal, State, and Local Government agencies.
- Responsible for the establishment, implementation and the maintenance of Environmental Health and Safety systems to comply with all regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for the implementation of agreed Health & Safety training policies and the retention of relevant records.
- Ensure continuous production of all departments; schedule repairs, maintenance and installation of machines, tools and equipment.
- Support operations to maximize production scheduling and avoid unexpected costs from failure and production downtime by developing and maintaining the preventative maintenance program for machinery and buildings.
- Participate in the management and direction of the company as a member of the management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7-10 years relative experience in maintenance management in a manufacturing environment, 3+ years of previous leadership experience required.
- Technical knowledge including electrical, mechanical, industrial maintenance, automation, HVAC & Hydraulics.
- Working knowledge of PLC.
- Experience in an injection molding operation a PLUS.
- Experience with packaging equipment a PLUS.
- Excellent computer competencies including spreadsheet skills .
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Managing work: Effectively managing one's time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently.

* Planning and scheduling the annual turnarounds of the various production plants. You will also use these skills to coordinate all resources from repair parts to contract labor to rental equipment.
Expertise needed includes:
* High School Diploma/GED required; advanced degree preferred.
* Experience with chemical plant production equipment highly preferred.
* At least 3+ years related expertise using SAP PM and MM.
* In depth knowledge of maintenance systems and equipment, planning, and scheduling.
* Are able to read piping & instrumentation diagrams, engineering specifications, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and vendor-supplied technical information.
* SAP knowledge and understanding required. MSProject, and Avetta software preferred.

Summary:
The Maintenance Manager will lead a team of 70 maintenance employees in a food manufacturing plant. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of the plant's equipment and systems. The Maintenance Manager will develop and implement maintenance programs, manage a large team, and work closely with production to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with safety and food quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
Manage, mentor, and develop a maintenance team of 70 employees, including maintenancesupervisors, technicians, and support staff.
Foster a collaborative and safe work environment, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Ensure adequate staffing and training for all maintenance roles, managing scheduling, performance evaluations, and professional development.
Responsible for addressing and documenting employee relations issues in accordance with company policy.
Responsible for providing regular feedback to direct reports in performance appraisals, commendations and disciplinary action.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance:
Develop and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to equipment performance, downtime, and maintenance efficiency.
Budgeting & Cost Control:
Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, focusing on cost-effective solutions without compromising safety or equipment integrity.
Manage spare parts inventory and procurement processes to ensure timely availability of critical components.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure that maintenance activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, food safety, and environmental standards.
Lead the implementation of safety programs and ensure all maintenance staff are properly trained and adhere to safety protocols.
Equipment & System Management:
Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of all machinery, equipment, and systems within the plant.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure optimal equipment performance and compliance with food safety standards.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, reduce costs, and improve overall plant efficiency.
Work closely with production and quality departments to resolve issues related to machinery performance or failures.
Knowledge and Skill Requirement:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 10 years work experience in food processing industry managing a diverse, technical staff.
Must have experience with CMMS systems and TPM methodology
Must have in-depth knowledge of food industry, processes and equipment and technologies.
Must have knowledge of financial indicators / analysis and experienced in budget development / management.
Computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Project and Power Point.
Strong knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA, hazard communications, accident investigation and safety training methods).

Requires good written and oral communication skills, ability to work independently, and must be results oriented.

Honeywell Aerospace's Health, Safety, Environment, Facilities, and Business Resilience function provides global leadership and governance for HSEF programs deployed at over 50 locations globally. You will be a site leadership team member for all aspects of facilities (facilities management, production equipment, test, etc.) and will use facilities project management (PM) skills to improve efficiency and reduce unplanned downtime and operating costs. You will utilize your knowledge of PM of CapEx to improve the quality, speed, productivity cost of project execution. The position reports to the ISC Site Leader.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Lead a facilities team and own specific aspects of delivery of facilities project management (scope, schedule, and budget with minimal supervision from Site Leader and Functional Director).
+ Fully implement an effective TPM program (under the guidance of the Site Leader and Aero Facilities Director).
+ Manage budgets, purchase orders and invoices and create excellent working relationships with all key vendors (with support from the site Finance leader).
+ Coordinate project activities to minimize impact to facility and manufacturing operations. Where impacts are unavoidable (power shutdowns, etc.), closely coordinate timing with site leadership to minimize business impact.
+ Provide regular updates, including schedule and budget to project stakeholders (escalate issues to Site Leader and Aero Facilities Director).
+ Ensure work is done in compliance with all relevant building and safety codes.
+ Identify, manage (mentor junior levels and peers) aspects of project risks to maintain approved budgets and schedules and systemically apply principles of value engineering to reduce costs.
+ Identify and drive process improvements to decrease project cycle time and scrap generation from poor equipment performance (in coordination with site engineering, facilities, and maintenance).
+ Review project execution readiness during each annual capital cycle.
+ Identify project bundling and program opportunities to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
+ Integrate energy efficiency and sustainability into projects whenever possible (and coordinate CapEx requests with Aero Facilities Director for Facilities Critical, WPM and Sustainability).
+ Own municipal relationships to expedite permit approvals.
+ Reduce vendor cost associated with Profession & Procured Services, Repair & Maintenance and Energy/Utilities.
+ Reduce CapEx costs with optimization of project management.
+ Reduce operating expenses with incentives and management of space, rentals, and leases.
+ Reduce waste disposal and cost and increase recyclables for a site, net cash benefit..
