Purpose
Ability to machine, mill, and grind various types of metals. Primarily 1st shift schedule, could include 2nd, 3rd, split shifts, weekends, holidays, 12 hour shifts. Daily work activity is directed by the Group Leader and a Maintenance Machinist A. Reports directly to the department Manager.
Job Responsibilities
Performs all tasks under general supervision.
Provides training and assistance to less experienced Machinists.
Assumes ownership of work task and demonstrates initiative to get work completed.
Creates and reworks machinery and equipment components according to requisition documentation, blueprints, or other drawings.
Sets up equipment operation feed, speed and temperature.
Follows established procedures for operating various conventional and/or CNC (computerized numerical control) manufacturing equipment for tasks such as cutting, punching, forming, drilling, tapping, turning, milling, grinding, and stamping to fabricate, form or shape manufactured parts, tools or parts assemblies from raw materials.
Selects and measures raw materials and parts to specifications to prepare for production processing.
Performs reworking and machining of new and spare production parts for departments.
Repairs maintenance parts as needed.
Verifies the accuracy of work by using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and various measuring instruments.
Order and maintain project related material as required.
Assist with keeping neat and orderly records on work performed and repairs made.
Work with Engineering, Production Team Leads, Managers, Group Leaders, and fellow tradesmen to accomplish the desired result.
Adjust schedule and work hours to accomplish the desired result, must be able to work weekends and holidays as required.
Perform work assignments efficiently while being consistent with good safety practices.
Report any maintenance and/or safety issues to supervisor.
Review, understand, and follow all Company specifications and procedures, and regulatory rules and requirements that are associated with the performance of this job.

Basic Requirements
Must pass the skilled trade assessment test for this position.
Must have a basic knowledge and experience reading mechanical drawings.
Must have a basic knowledge and experience in proper machining and grinding techniques (Feed rates, sequencing, cutting speeds).
Must have a basic knowledge and experience in setting up machine tools to produce precision parts.
Must have a basic knowledge and experience in writing and modifying machine programs.
Must be able to use math to calculate dimensions and determine speeds and feed rates.
Ability to use various measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc.)
Excellent attendance required.
Must possess basic mechanical aptitude.
Must possess good organizational and communication skills.
Team oriented, self-motivated, safety and quality conscious; requiring minimal supervision.

Job Responsibilities
As a Machine Maintenance Tech, you will be responsible for maintaining, installing and diagnosing the machinery.
This role will blend preventative, diagnostic, and emergency maintenance work with new equipment installations.
Install and maintain both new and existing production equipment such as Mixers and Bagging equipment while also maintaining plant facility equipment such as feed hoppers, chutes, lifts, vacuum loaders and pelletizers.

POSITION SUMMARY

Job Responsibilities
As a Machine Maintenance Tech, you will be responsible for maintaining, installing and diagnosing the machinery.
This role will blend preventative, diagnostic, and emergency maintenance work with new equipment installations.
Install and maintain both new and existing production equipment such as Mixers and Bagging equipment while also maintaining plant facility equipment such as feed hoppers, chutes, lifts, vacuum loaders and pelletizers.
Preventative maintenance will be performed daily based on a schedule.
Diagnostic maintenance will typically occur on a shut down or emergency basis.
Will do a daily floor walk to check on equipment and report operator feedback/issues to the manager.
May need to consult the equipment manuals and guidelines to determine issues and appropriate path to repair. Examples of repairs to be done may include replacing pumps or motors on equipment. Preventative maintenance examples include checking fluid levels, lubricating moving parts, or changing valves before they fail.
Work may involve confined spaces and/or heights.
Will ensure proper inventory is on-hand for repairs and preventative maintenance, communicating with management as required.
Required Qualifications
Previous machine maintenance experience in a manufacturing or mechanical setting
2-5+ years of experience
Mechanical, electrical (480v), hydraulic, pneumatic and welding skills set
Individual must have at least 2-3 years of Industrial Maintenance experience (formal training preferred, on job experience is fine), focusing on plant equipment and not general facilities maintenance. This typically includes the Mechanical, Electrical (480v), Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Welding skills sets, as elements of all of these are required to work independently depending on the work order.
The best fit will have a self-starter mentality, proactive disposition, and a commitment to preventing costly shut downs before they happen.
In an entry level capacity, individuals should still possess some direct Industrial Maintenance experience, but are perhaps missing one or two of the Mech/Elec/Hyd/Pneu/Weld skill set.
Comfortable using hand tools and wire crimpers
Able to follow written and verbal instructions
Physical Requirements

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

* Supervise and lead all maintenance processes and operations (including diagnosis and repair of production lines and systems, mechanical and electrical circuitry, prevention of food safety and quality problems, minor repairs to building and plumbing)

* Good understanding of the technical features of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, ammonia, glycol and hydraulics systems
