Responsibilities:
Lead all maintenance, fabrication and asset lifecycle management activities for the fleet of buses across the US
Ensure compliance with internal procedures and external agency standards from OSHA, EPA, DOT etc.
Ensure adherence to and help strengthen current preventive and breakdown maintenance programs
Lead a team of mechanics, fabricators, welders, electricians, cleaners etc. to maintain the current buses and fabricate new buses for various tour products
Plan, hire, mentor and performance manage the team to ensure the team is prepared to adequately handle current work and future growth of the business
Ensure that mechanics are trained on their specific roles and company equipment. Work with equipment manufacturers to contribute to the Mechanic Training Program
Set performance targets and goals and monitor employee productivity
Establish and sustain a culture of safety, quality, productivity and pride in workmanship across the board
Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks
Utilize the maintenance and inventory software to compile maintenance history, be proactive in resolving issues, ensure sufficient levels of inventory, prioritize work orders, and complete preventive maintenance and regular maintenance items on time
Improve key performance indicators for the department, including but not limited to safety incident rate, policy adherence, PM compliance, frequency of breakdowns/usage, asset uptime %, fabrication compliance to design, budgetary compliance, inventory levels etc.
Maintain safe and clean working conditions in the shop facility
Manage work schedule and payroll for the team on a weekly basis
Be open to working on holidays and weekends and being on call on days off, as required
Perform other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
10+ years of maintenance management experience, preferably in heavy vehicle (bus, truck, trailers etc.) maintenance dealing with fleets of over 50 units
Deep knowledge of vehicular maintenance and fabrication operations including mechanical, electrical, powertrain and auxiliary systems
Experience in preventive maintenance systems
First hand knowledge of CMMS systems for workflow and inventory management
Working knowledge of various transit agency regulations like DOT, NYDOT, etc.
Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations from agencies like EPA and OSHA
Strong leadership experience in leading, motivating and performance managing teams of 20+
Able to perform root cause analysis and present logical conclusions from diagnosis
Able to comprehend and interpret technical information present in a variety of forms, including but not limited to engineering drawings, engineering specifications, mathematical equations, architectural drawings etc.
Able to establish priorities and manage workload
Experience with various productivity, project management and financial suites like Google Workspace, MSOffice, Monday.com, ClickUp.com, SAP, Netsuite etc.
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Experience managing a union workforce (preferred)
Able to perform physical aspects of the role, including but not limited to regularly lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Physical requirements include standing for extended periods of time, climbing stairs and ladders, working from elevated platforms and walkways at varying heights, and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds.
Power plant environment that may involve entering confined spaces, crawling through narrow areas, and handling hazardous materials, with exposure to fumes, extreme temperatures, and noise. Work may include high heat near equipment and varying outdoor weather conditions.
Some duties may require the use of protective equipment, which can include hard hats, safety glasses, and eye protection, air masks/respirators, ear protection, chemical suits, flame-resistant clothing (FRC), hot gloves, high-voltage protective gear, and fall protection. Fit testing for respirators may be required. Strict smoking restrictions apply in and around the facility.
Fitness for Duty
All personnel will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program, which includes a post-offer physical examination, drug screening, and post-employment random drug screening.
Work Schedule
The Relief Lead O&M Technician works a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, alternating between days and nights to support continuous 24/7 operations and ensure seamless shift transitions. This position will also occasionally necessitate extended working hours and flexible shifts as needed, including weekends and holidays, in response to schedules, workload demands, and plant conditions. Periodic callouts or "On call" status will also be required.
Compensation
This position offers a base pay rate ranging from $48.63 to $58.21 per hour, along with an annual performance bonus.
Core Qualifications and Skills
We are looking for a results-oriented Lead Technician with experience in the operations and maintenance of power generating facilities, coupled with a track record of leadership, career development, and operational success.
Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment as would be acquired in four years of high school, with a preference for an Associate degree in power plant technology or a similar technology or engineering degree; experience may be considered in lieu of education on a year-for-year basis.
Five (5) years of power plant experience in operations and/or maintenance, including experience with gas turbine combined-cycle operations preferred.
Knowledge of power plant mechanical and electrical equipment, including motors, pumps, boilers, fluid systems, chemical handling, water treatment systems, pollution control equipment, AC and DC electrical distribution and control systems, and associated maintenance functions, with the ability to troubleshoot, maintain, install, and modify equipment as needed.
Thorough understanding of the water treatment process through both hands-on experience and formal training, including successful completion of in-house training and testing, and knowledge of the impact of water treatment on overall plant operations, along with a broad understanding of chemistry and chemical applications in a power plant.
Knowledge of power plant safety policies and procedures, particularly in high-energy systems, chemical handling, heavy equipment, rotating machinery, confined spaces, incipient fire suppression, and first aid.
Basic understanding of fundamental principles of physics, mathematics, AC and DC electrical theory, chemistry, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid flow.
Demonstrated ability to operate valves, switches, controls, keyboards, and other plant devices, as well as basic hand tools, portable electric and pneumatic tools, and rigging equipment such as winches, hoists, and slings.
Ability to comprehend and apply technical information, including mechanical and electrical drawings (blueprints, P&IDs, single-line diagrams, schematics) to troubleshooting and problem-solving situations.
Proficiency in operating and maintaining various analytical and test equipment.

Qualifications/Competencies:

Responsibilities:
Lead all maintenance, fabrication and asset lifecycle management activities for the fleet of buses across the US
Ensure compliance with internal procedures and external agency standards from OSHA, EPA, DOT etc.
Ensure adherence to and help strengthen current preventive and breakdown maintenance programs
Lead a team of mechanics, fabricators, welders, electricians, cleaners etc. to maintain the current buses and fabricate new buses for various tour products
Plan, hire, mentor and performance manage the team to ensure the team is prepared to adequately handle current work and future growth of the business
Ensure that mechanics are trained on their specific roles and company equipment. Work with equipment manufacturers to contribute to the Mechanic Training Program
Set performance targets and goals and monitor employee productivity
Establish and sustain a culture of safety, quality, productivity and pride in workmanship across the board
Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks
Utilize the maintenance and inventory software to compile maintenance history, be proactive in resolving issues, ensure sufficient levels of inventory, prioritize work orders, and complete preventive maintenance and regular maintenance items on time
Improve key performance indicators for the department, including but not limited to safety incident rate, policy adherence, PM compliance, frequency of breakdowns/usage, asset uptime %, fabrication compliance to design, budgetary compliance, inventory levels etc.
Maintain safe and clean working conditions in the shop facility
Manage work schedule and payroll for the team on a weekly basis
Be open to working on holidays and weekends and being on call on days off, as required
Perform other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
10+ years of maintenance management experience, preferably in heavy vehicle (bus, truck, trailers etc.) maintenance dealing with fleets of over 50 units
Deep knowledge of vehicular maintenance and fabrication operations including mechanical, electrical, powertrain and auxiliary systems
Experience in preventive maintenance systems
First hand knowledge of CMMS systems for workflow and inventory management
Working knowledge of various transit agency regulations like DOT, NYDOT, etc.
Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations from agencies like EPA and OSHA
Strong leadership experience in leading, motivating and performance managing teams of 20+
Able to perform root cause analysis and present logical conclusions from diagnosis
Able to comprehend and interpret technical information present in a variety of forms, including but not limited to engineering drawings, engineering specifications, mathematical equations, architectural drawings etc.
Able to establish priorities and manage workload
Experience with various productivity, project management and financial suites like Google Workspace, MSOffice, Monday.com, ClickUp.com, SAP, Netsuite etc.
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Experience managing a union workforce (preferred)
Able to perform physical aspects of the role, including but not limited to regularly lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds

About the Role:
As a Maintenance Base Manager, you report directly to the Senior Manager of Maintenance and are responsible for overseeing all activity at the maintenance facility, including maintenance personnel and all maintenance performed on company aircraft. You ensure that all aircraft maintenance is conducted safely and in full compliance with FAA and Company regulations, policies, procedures, and standards. You also ensure that the facility, tooling, and equipment are maintained in accordance with Company and OSHA requirements. Additionally, you assist the Manager of Maintenance in managing overall maintenance operations.
A Day in the Life:
Your day will be fast-paced and focused on ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient maintenance operations across the facility. Typical responsibilities include:
Championing Safety: Promote safety as the top priority for both aircraft and personnel, and ensure all work follows OSHA, FAA, and Company standards.
Leading the Maintenance Team: Oversee maintenance personnel as they perform preventive maintenance, repairs, modifications, and inspections in accordance with 14 CFR, manufacturer specifications, the GMM, and Company policies.
Planning the Workday: Prioritize, assign, and coordinate maintenance activities to minimize delays, improve efficiency, and ensure timely aircraft delivery.
Supporting Company Operations: Collaborate with other maintenance bases and consider Company-wide needs when making operational decisions.
Setting and Evaluating Standards: Establish performance expectations and assess productivity, safety practices, and workmanship across the team.
Training and Development: Provide hands-on training, guidance, and mentorship while continuously assessing the effectiveness of the OJT program.
Overseeing Equipment Use: Ensure all shop tools, ground support equipment, vehicles, and fuel-dispensing equipment are operated safely and remain in serviceable condition.
Maintaining a Safe Workplace: Enforce OSHA and safety guidelines and provide required safety training to the team.
Managing Materials Flow: Ensure proper material handling and control as outlined in the GMM; work with the Materials team to ensure parts and supplies arrive on time.
Communicating Aircraft Status: Provide timely, accurate updates on aircraft serviceability and communicate status changes to Maintenance Control.
Managing Shift Operations: Oversee shift turnover reports, lead shift briefings, and participate in management meetings to maintain alignment and efficiency.
Ensuring Accurate Documentation: Verify that all forms, maintenance records, work orders, and manual revisions are completed correctly; monitor timekeeping, payroll entries, and resolve pay issues as needed.
Upholding Company Policies: Communicate and enforce Company policies and procedures; recommend GMM updates to improve clarity and operational effectiveness.
Partnering with Corporate Soul: Coordinate on matters involving leaves of absence, benefits, compensation, and employee support programs.
Managing Vendor Relationships: Work with third-party vendors-such as building maintenance, uniforms, and janitorial services-to ensure timely and quality service delivery.
