Job Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Group Leader will be responsible for leading a group of Skilled employees to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment and processes.
This role requires you to consistently administer National and Local Agreement between company and the United Auto Workers Union. The work is of a technical nature and requires you to use independent judgment within the limits of Global Manufacturing Systems, focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE).
Selected candidates will have the opportunity to learn new skills as well as influencing the development of manufacturing processes to support this historical and game-changing progression to electric and autonomous vehicles.

• Experience reading and understanding electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints

• Experience solving complex problems and working in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal skills, experience managing conflict and making decisions in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment
• Basic computer proficiency (i.e. Microsoft Word, typing, email etc.)

The General Assembly Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the maintenance team in ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and safety of all manufacturing equipment and systems within the General Assembly area. This role oversees preventive and corrective maintenance, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with safety and quality standards.
Core Hours: 5:00pm - 1:00am
Shift is subject to change based on business needs; Must be willing to work any shift.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage a team of supervisors, specialists, and skilled trades in the General Assembly area
* Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and automation issues
* Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to support operational goals
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies
* Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and vendor relationships
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and generate reports on equipment performance and downtime
* Support capital projects and equipment installations as needed
* Direct activities around troubleshooting and programming in of the following: controls, robotics, drives and system level communication systems, glass cell systems, various conveyance systems, vision systems and sensors use and application.
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree or High School Diploma and minimum of 6 years of industrial automation maintenance experience, including some supervisory experience
* Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various levels of employees within all areas of the Plant from hourly represented employees to Senior Leadership as required
* Ability to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and customers
* Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
* Demonstrated ability to coach / mentor / develop team members
* Goal oriented self-starter with ability to lead team
* Experience in continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing
* Troubleshooting and programming experience in one of the following: controls, robotics, drives and system level communication systems, sealing systems, glass cell systems, various conveyance systems, welding - all types, paint process and associated systems, vision systems and sensors use and application.
* Experience with machine, systems operation and integration
* Must possess a working knowledge of advanced technical problem-solving tools
* Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree or higher in technical/engineering field (i.e., BSME or BSEE)
* Previous experience working in a union environment
* Production/maintenancesupervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
* Familiar with World Class Manufacturing pillar methodology and implementation
* Seven or more years maintenance experience in a manufacturing/automotive environment

A Day in the Life of a Maintenance Manager:
In this role, you will plan, coordinate, and direct aircraft maintenance at a line station, ensuring cost-effective, reliable maintenance operations while adhering to policies, procedures, and regulations. You'll also maintain the facility in compliance with company and OSHA regulations.
Essential Duties of the Maintenance Manager:
