Qualifications
Associate's degree or equivalent in training, education or 5 + years of experience as maintenancesupervisor, or equivalent combination of experience, training and education

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform routine building inspections on both building common areas, customer space and exterior

Assist contractors with life safety alarm systems and water-based or dry fire protection systems shut downs and testing
Be responsible for accurate and timely record keeping and reporting
Assist in hurricane preparedness and response
Foster a positive and productive working relationship with each customer in the building to ensure the best customer service experience and overall customer satisfaction
Be available for emergency calls at night, weekends, and holidays on an alternating schedule (on-call)

Ability to evaluate major mechanical systems and assess any potential maintenance issues.
Knowledge of Energy Management systems and procedures

As a Vehicle Maintenance Manager on Via's Operations team, you'll supervise and perform complex technical and administrative work overseeing the maintenance program for the servicing, maintenance, and repair of all transit equipment and property. You'll also be an active member of the maintenance team, working hands on to ensure our vehicles and equipment are operating successfully and efficiently.
**This is an in-person position with the expectation that you will be on-site 5 days per week**
While standard schedules are provided, this role does require flexibility to work occasional evenings, Saturdays, and extended hours as business needs arise.
What You'll Do:
Service, overhaul, and repair of all transit equipment and property. Discuss equipment repair with personnel, evaluate problems, write work orders, and assign and prioritize work.
Manage the full employee lifecycle for drivers: scheduling, PTO approvals, approving
timesheets for payroll, daily inquiries, performance conversations, and adherence to workplace policies.
Inspect work in progress and upon completion when required. Inspect tools and equipment for condition and proper use. Approve stock orders for needed parts. Maintain records of work, troubleshoot various facilities and transit equipment problems. Understand and use automotive test equipment manuals and diagrams.
Direct and coordinate the administrative activities pertinent to the maintenance of system equipment and property. Help prepare the maintenance budget and oversee maintenance budget.
Provide technical advice to mechanics. Determine need and feasibility of major repairs on individual pieces of equipment with a strong focus on safety and cost-effective decisions.Train, coach, and mentor staff, ensuring consistent workmanship, safety compliance, and documentation standards.
Direct and coordinate the ordering, receiving, storing, and distribution of an inventory of equipment supplies and spare parts.
Diagnose and perform all repairs as required, including but not limited to, engine defects, transmission defects, electrical defects, and preventative maintenance.
Build strong working relationships with partners, vendors, and other stakeholders, including central Via teams and our partners.
Who You Are:
Self-starter who is proactive and comfortable taking on a high level of responsibility.
Hands-on leader who can run a shop day-to-day and is comfortable working on the floor alongside the team when needed
Vocational automotive training and considerable experience ((minimum 5 years hands-on; 3 years supervisory experience preferred/required) ) in skilled mechanical work strongly preferred.

Outgoing and sociable leader; skilled at communicating professionally with partners, vendors, and partners from a broad range of backgrounds.

About the role
Reporting to the Facility Manager, the Maintenance Manager will provide functional leadership and direction to the maintenance team. This position will report directly to the Facility Manager. The individual must be a proven leader who can provide vision and leadership to achieve daily, yearly and long-term asset reliability goals through application of Maintenance best practices site wide. Position Responsibilities:
Act as a Safety Leader to ensure individual and team Safety remain top priority in the planning and execution of all tasks
Work closely with Company Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) personnel targeting zero incidents and continuous improvement of site EHS performance. Safety planning must be built into every maintenance assignment
Continuous improvement in maintenance approach, encourage initiatives intended to reduce safety risk, increase productivity and efficiency, reduce maintenance cost.
Plan, develop, and implement innovative methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
Manage Maintenance Shops comprised of both Mechanical and E&I crafts with advanced skills
Manage a stream lined preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance program.
Develop a 5-year long-term maintenance plan for the site
Maintain a metric dashboard for maintenance that drives improvement and helps prioritize actions
Develop yearly and monthly maintenance budgets and the activities to ensure alignment and achievement of budgets; identifies opportunities to improve our business and provides for short and long-term actions that reduce cost
Provide overall leadership and direction for the site Work Management Program (WMP) to be cost competitive by utilizing correct application of best practices
Support a Computer Maintenance Management System and other associated tools.

Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and provide room status updates to minimize disruptions to hotel operations.
Adhere to safety standards and regulations, following lock-out/tag out and other safety measures to ensure a safe work environment for all employees and guests.

Supportive Functions: The hotel functions seven (7) days a week and twenty-four (24) hours per day. Due to the seasonal nature and business hours of a hotel, candidates must realize it may be necessary to move an employee from their accustomed shift to meet business demands. All associates are expected to perform any other duties as requested by management to support other departments and/or operational requirements.

Moves materials and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs. regularly.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Capable of Working in dirty, dusty, or uncomfortable surroundings, including being exposed to varying temperatures, noise levels, and hazardous materials depending on the tasks performed.
Capable of remaining in a standing position, either stationary or walking, for duration of shift.
Ability to work in, on, around, over and under fixed equipment and machinery; including working from lifts, ladders, and scaffolding; to manipulate heavy equipment, tools and supplies and reach in all directions, often overhead.
Move through various areas of the hotel, including mechanical rooms, guest rooms, public areas, and outside areas, with frequent and repeated climbing up and down stairs, throughout duration of shift.
Capable of frequent and repeated lifting, carrying, bending, stooping, and extending arms fully.
Able to strictly observe and adhere to all safety regulations and standards, and that they are being followed throughout the hotel.
Professional Licenses/Certifications:
Relevant certifications in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or building maintenance preferred.
Experience
Must have at least one (1) year of experience in general facility or building maintenance, preferably in a large hotel or hospitality setting.
Experience in all maintenance trades, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, and painting.
Experience and safety knowledge using basic hand and power tools.
