Job Responsibilities
Repair and maintenance of industrial equipment, including conveying systems, pumps, mixers, kneaders, extruders, piping and electrical distribution and controls.
Troubleshooting of malfunctioning equipment, including field investigation, interpretation of drawings and documentation, adjustment and testing.
Documenting work completed or in-process and hours worked per work order.
Participation in training, both as a trainer and a trainee, in techniques, equipment and safety.
Participation in other activities as required, including store room work, shop clean-up, general labor such as facilities repairs and construction.
Qualifications Required
Prefer a Journeyman Certificate as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, Millwright, Pipe fitter or Electrician.
Will accept completion of an approved apprentice program or minimum 4 years industrial mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience, boiler and/or wastewater operations experience.
Ability to read, understand and correctly interpret technical specification and design documents and drawings.
Ability to work in a team environment with all other mechanics acting as both a leader and a follower, as needed.
Sound written and verbal skills to share and receive information with a variety of team members and external agents.
Ability to work with power and hand tools, drive a fork truck or other industrial vehicle.
Must be able to push, pull and lift at least 50 pounds.
Must be able to work in elevated areas and in confined spaces.
