We're hiring an Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) responsible for the overall maintenance and safety of our fleet within Guardian Flight. This technician will be qualified to support our King Air B200, B300 and Lear 45 airframe. This is a key role to ensure our team can safely maintain and deliver timely and high-quality transportation services, care and customer service to patients.
Responsibilities
Aircraft Maintenance Technician will perform maintenance services including mechanical inspections, screening, repairs and provide regular statuses to the Lead Technician.
Manage inventory checks to ensure stock of supplies and equipment, regularly update the equipment tracking log, place replacement requests when necessary and document part expenditures.
Clearly document service paperwork and FAA information as required and adhere to policies and procedures while complying with the company's information security standards.
Take pride in sustaining a safe and clean working environment for the aircraft maintenance team and flight crew.
Use appropriate communication methods to help facilitate coordination of efforts between departments, vendors and team members.
Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow AMTs and operations team.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Two (2) years turboprop and/or turbine powered fixed-wing experience
Valid Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license
Valid State issued Driver's license
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Federal Aviation Regulations knowledge
EMS Systems, Aircraft maintenance systems, records and maintenance support and planning
Ability to work a flexible schedule including overtime and 24/7 on-call rotations.
Must be acceptable in accordance with the FAA drug and alcohol testing program.
Must be able to push and/or pull 100+ lbs.
Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications

As a mechanic in the Aviation Technology Division you will be responsible for performing the duties of an FAA-certificated Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic with Inspection Authorization conducting required maintenance & preventative maintenance of UAA Flight Training Aircraft including 50-hour inspections, 100-hour inspections, annual, and phase inspections. This position is responsible for debriefing pilots concerning any aircraft malfunction. Running and taxiing aircraft under power, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing unscheduled maintenance on assigned aircraft. Additionally, you will perform the full range of repair and testing of aircraft systems, assemblies and surfaces, determining if aircraft components require repair, replacement or re-calibration, and requesting parts and conducting repairs as required.
🛩️As an A&P with IA in the Aviation Technology Division you will exercise Inspection Authority privileges to return aircraft to service, provide technical assistance to other UAA aviation maintenance technicians, perform inspections on UAA aircraft for continued airworthiness using methods, techniques, and practices that adhere to the Title 14 Code of Federal Aviation Regulations (CFRs) and UAA's Flight Operations Maintenance Policy. As a Plant Operator Trainer and Maintenance Technician you will organize, assist, direct and perform construction work on-site required to serve member villages with electrical energy through a diesel generation and distribution system. Your days will often never be the same and you will have the opportunity to do lots of different things. Primarily, you'll travel to AVEC Villages to train the Power Plant Operators on maintaining the power plant, on how to receive and transfer fuel, how to complete minor repairs, and on switch gear operation. As part of the traveling field staff, you are the ones that our Members see so there is much value to maintaining good relations with the member-owners and village councils and building their understanding and confidence in AVEC's value, mission and goals.
The Maintenance Technician/Plant Operator Trainer position will travel approximate 80% of the year. While traveling you will get to enjoy world class fishing and hunting during the hours that you aren't working and will get to see parts of Alaska that most Alaskans don't even get to see.
Rewards: The Maintenance Technician/Plant Operator Trainer starts between $32.42 and $39.59 per hour. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP
The Lead reports to the Supervisor of the department to which the Lead is assigned. In the absence of the Lead, the Supervisor will appoint a qualified replacement to perform these duties.
BASIC FUNCTION
Assign daily job tasks. Lead, direct, and provide oversight of the work performance of subordinate crew members.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Coordinate with the Supervisor for the scheduling and assignment of daily job tasks.
2. Lead and direct subordinate crewmembers in the performance of job tasks. Ensure that productivity and work quality is satisfactory.
3. Ensure that all identified maintenance discrepancies are documented.
4. Perform troubleshooting. Assist in determining the proper course of maintenance action when a discrepancy is found.
5. Assist subordinate crewmembers with interpreting maintenance manual or SRM instructions.
6. Ensure that all maintenance performed by subordinate crewmembers is in accordance with approved maintenance data, such as the AMM, SRM, CMMs, WDM, Service Bulletins, EAs, etc. Ensure that all maintenance actions performed by subordinate crewmembers are properly documented.
7. Provide OJT as necessary to subordinate crewmembers.
8. Provide oversight of subordinate crewmembers and assist the Supervisor in identifying the need for training or remedial training.
9. Assist subordinate crewmembers in the accomplishment of assigned tasks.
10. Assist the Supervisor in identifying any safety related deficiencies.
11. Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Also required is an A&P license and previous 747 experience is desirable. Tools required as well
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum Requirements
* High school diploma or GED equivalent.
* NATE certifications for the Core test and AC Service, Hydronics Gas and Hydronics oil modules.
* Technician must have EPA Universal certification to work on Freon systems and must hold NATE certifications for the following:

* AC Service
* Hydronics Gas
* Hydronics Oil
* Five (5) years of experience working in a commercial and/or industrial setting working:
* HVAC hands on repair and troubleshooting proficiency in the commercial and industrial settings is required and experience in the Communications industry is preferred, i.e., cooling of Central Office Wire Centers, large Network and Internet Switch rooms
* Perform routine calibration of pneumatic thermostats and controllers, routine change of pneumatic compressor condenser coils and filters
* Trouble shoot and diagnosis of airflow problems, monitor glycol pressures and inhibitor levels.
* Periodic inspection and monitoring of air conditioning coils to ensure proper airflows and heat rejection.
* Augmentation of filter changes as required, inspect coil conditions for organic debris and soils.
* Ensure compliance with DOT Cylinder Maintenance, Retest and Certification requirements for hydrostatic test dates of high-pressure cylinders.
* Use the Annual Preventative Air Conditioning Maintenance checklists/job plan provided or by manufacturers specifications.
* Knowledge and ability to perform maintenance on various types of heating systems is required.
* Basic knowledge of low to high voltage, 3 phase wiring principles and how to read a schematic.
* The ability to write detailed, descriptive reports on HVAC equipment and required repairs. CFC reports required by the client, etc.
* This position normally requires approximately 25 - 50% travel out of Anchorage area to remote sites, however, depending on client needs/requests, technician could be required to travel more often. May be required to travel within hours of client request to any site throughout the State of Alaska. Must be willing and able to fly on small aircraft to said remote sites although the majority are accessed via road system.
* Must be able to work well with others as directed and be a team player.
* Able to work independently and prioritize workload.
* Positions main focus will be on HVAC specific tasks a majority of the time but building maintenance duties are required and client needs always take precedence.
* Assume Supervisory role and/or job site Lead technician. Ability to instruct others as a lead technician in a professional manner.
* Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
* A valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NMS' vehicle insurance policy.
