Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, repair and complete preventative maintenance on Ground Service Equipment (both motorized and non-motorized)

Troubleshooting and repair of diesel engines, heavy industrial equipment, including large aircraft air conditioners, air start and ground electrical power units
Ground Service Equipment Technicians are represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT)

Salary increases will be administered according to the current IBT/United contract

Role description
The SFMTA Transit Division's Maintenance of Way (MOW) Section is seeking an experienced, dependable, and strategic Deputy Chief Maintenance Officer (DCMO) of MOW Operations. The DCMO will provide high level leadership and strategic oversight for three functional units responsible for critical maintenance of all transit assets and infrastructure; Mechanical Infrastructure (comprised of Cable Car Track, Cable Car Propulsion, Light Rail Track, and Mechanical Systems), Electrical Infrastructure (comprised of Motive Power, Overhead Lines, Signals and Digital Systems) and Facilities Maintenance (comprised of Custodial Operations, Building Systems Maintenance, Skilled Trades, External Program Support and Shelter Platform and Maintenance). This position directs the work of Senior Operations Managers of these units and provides leadership across a workforce of maintenance professionals spanning multiple technical classifications. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, professional, with extensive experience working at a large transit agency with both rail and trolley vehicles.
Under the direction of the Chief Maintenance Officer (CMO), the DCMO, stewards the agency's fixed-guideway infrastructure integrity and drives operational excellence through comprehensive planning, performance management, and analytical decision-making. Leads the development and execution of complex, high-impact programs that ensure safe, reliable, and high-quality transit infrastructure in support of SFMTA's multimodal operations. The DCMO advises and reports to the CMO on the state of critical guideway systems. The DCMO works closely with SFMTA engineering and project delivery stakeholders on capital projects, including review and recommendations related to all aspects of the projects. The DCMO provides direction on emergency response and resolution strategies for critical infrastructure incidents. The DCMO may be called upon to act on behalf of the CMO during their absence and cover the operational needs of the MOW section.

1. Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; AND

Eight (8) years of full-time experience at a mass transit agency in the operation, maintenance and repair in any of the following: power generating and related distribution systems; and/or electronic systems; and/or buildings, stations or passenger infrastructure; and/or use of heavy construction equipment; and/or track work; and/or maintenance engineering, which must have included five (5) years at the second supervisory level or management level which includes responsibility for supervising staff; AND
3. Possession of a valid driver's license.
Education Substitution: Additional years of qualifying experience (both second-level supervisory/management or non-supervisory) may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. One year (2,000 hours) will be considered equivalent to thirty (30) semester units/forty-five (45) quarter units.

Your Role
You will provide technical expertise to support the store during store hours with various maintenance needs, such as repairs and general upkeep of most of the systems associated with the Neiman Marcus retail store. You will aid in maintaining and troubleshooting all critical building equipment and conduct preventative maintenance work. This includes but is not limited to electrical work, plumbing, HVAC, dock doors, lighting (lamps and ballasts), generators, flush valves, and facets.
In addition, you will develop and maintain partner relationships with your internal and external customers while responding to both critical and routine support requests. You will be an advocate in supporting NMG's Way of Working, which is a framework across all teams to work smarter, be present, and integrate work and life in a way that empowers you and others.
What You'll Do
You will be responsible for weekly preventive maintenance on all building equipment and building envelop, to include daily/weekly and monthly logging of safety inspections
You will complete and/or oversee inspections that must occur on facility equipment such as vertical transportation, boilers, generators, and HVAC
You will be responsible for ordering maintenance supplies and assisting Regional Manager in managing the maintenance expense accounts
You will assist the Regional Manager with execution of capital planning projects.
You will maintain and/or coordinate all building energy management systems to include lighting through the Trane Ensemble Software.
You will oversee store systems that may need support would include, but not limited to Point of Sale (POS) and Telephone systems
You may need to support the kitchen team by maintaining kitchen equipment
You must be able to respond to after-hours and emergency calls. Overtime may be required
You must be able to work with limited time off to support the store in its busiest season between Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) and mid-January
What You Bring
Degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field
Two to Five years' experience or four years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field
Must have a background in building maintenance, electrical, and HVAC
Demonstrated ability to multitask and self-prioritize work assignments
Able to work with others as well as independently and be a self-starter
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with regular bending, lifting, and reaching both below the waist and above the head and able to climb ladders
Ability to communicate effectively, (written and verbally) with peers, management, contractors, and vendors
Understanding and knowledge of SDS (Safety Data Sheets) information
Must be highly self-motivated and customer-centric
