Responsibilities
Fabricate, assemble, and test complex mechanical systems, components, and prototypes according to engineering drawings and specifications.

Required Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of relevant hands-on experience in mechanical fabrication, machining, or assembly within manufacturing, prototyping, robotics, or related industries.
Technical training in machining, welding, or mechanical assembly through trade school, apprenticeship, or equivalent work experience.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and assembly documentation.
Skilled in using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and torque wrenches.
Familiarity with hand and power tools, shop equipment, and industrial safety standards.
Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to lift and handle parts up to 35 lbs and work safely with cranes or lifting devices for heavier assemblies.
Willingness to work full-time on-site and adapt to early morning or variable shift schedules.

Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Machine Tech II in our Torrance, CA location. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems, and we're the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. Our products are also critical components of industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, and construction and industrial equipment.
Primary Purpose
Sets up machines to perform various secondary operations, by self or others, in manufacturing departments to which assigned.
Major Activities
Proficiently sets up, operates, and trouble shoots machinery for self/others
Sets up machines, according to work order set standard procedures and specialized company products and/or processes
Learns the set up and operation of any new machines added to the departments to which assigned
Checks parts with standard gauges or precision measuring instruments and submits parts for inspection as required
Operates machines to ensure proper functioning and releases to and instructs operator in procedures for producing parts in conformance with specifications
Perform SPC Charting as required
Keeps work area clean, safe, and in an orderly fashion on a daily basis
Performs other tasks as required
Essential Knowledge & Skills
Certified in Lock Out/Tag Out
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Must have good communication skills and know basic shop math
Must be able to read, write and understand English
Must be able to lift/move up to 30 lbs. (may not exceed per EHS Policies)
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
Minimum 1 year experience in relevant machining experience.

The Chatsworth, CA facility is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead our maintenance team through maintaining a preventative and predictive maintenance process for equipment across the facility. The incumbent will work closely with the production team to ensure down time is reduced while addressing maintenance issues and ensuring equipment and tools are maintained in safe operating order. Pay range for this role is comensurate with experience and expected to be $80-100k annually. Benefits begin the first of the month following hire date.

A Day In The Life
Create and maintain Preventive/Predictive Maintenance processes for facility wide equipment
Lead team through safely and effectively troubleshooting electrical and mechanical equipment issues in a timely fashion
Communicate directly with equipment vendors to schedule maintenance, repairs and resolve elevated equipment issues
Oversee and coordinate the maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and tools.
Manage the maintenance team, including hiring, training, coaching and evaluating staff performance.
Ensure building & grounds are kept clean, safe and in good working order
Prepare and maintain maintenance logs and reports
Identify and implement cost reduction strategies
Manage budgets and forecast maintenance costs
Work closely with Supply Chain to negotiate contracts with outside vendors, order replacement parts and set up spare parts
Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve problems.
Manage inventory of supplies and equipment.
Track and report out on department KPI's
What will help you thrive in this role?
Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Engineering, or a related field. (strongly preferred).
Proven experience as a Maintenance Supervisor or similar role.
7+ years of relevant maintenance experience
Strong understanding of building systems including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
Demonstrated self-initiative, ability to work with minimal supervision, and leadership.
Proven ability to build a team and working relationships
Ability to solve problems using root cause analysis.
Work effectively with others in a fast-paced environment across organizational boundaries as a member of a broader team.
Possess a demonstrated value for safety and willingness to participate in world class safety programs including providing peer-to-peer feedback and driving safety improvements as a matter of daily business.
Possess strong decision-making skills and the ability to see a project through to finish with set timeline.
Ability to communicate technical information in both verbal and written formats.
