Essential Functions

Maintain logs of spare parts inventory for all production equipment and flooded lead-acid batteries for EPA reporting.
Be budget and production impact-minded in repairs and projects related to all maintenance and facilities, considering workload and customers.
General Facilities Maintenance to include Pluming, Carpentry, Painting, Cleaning, Concrete Repair.

The Background You Bring to our Team:
Three or more years of experience industrial mechanical / electrical experience in a production environment
Must possess good mechanical aptitude and be able to analyze and troubleshoot problems
Knowledge of pneumatic cylinders and controls as well as hydraulic systems and components (pumps, cylinders, valves, etc)
Ability to operate lathe, milling machine, drill press, mig welder, tig welder, plasma cutter to fabricate and repair equipment
Prior forklift certification and ability to use hand tools
Familiarity with environmental, health and safety regulations

The reporting location for this position will be Bodie State Historic Park. The Senior Maintenance Aide works under the supervision of the Park Maintenance Chief I and is directed on the job by permanent and senior maintenance lead staff.
Bodie State Historic Park is hiring multiple Senior Maintenance Aides. The Senior Maintenance Aide may act as a lead to other seasonal maintenance staff and will perform various housekeeping tasks to ensure that public health and safety standards are maintained. This position performs tasks of cleaning restrooms, restocking restroom supplies, litter pickup, grounds work, snow removal and other manual labor tasks. This position requires operating gators (utility type vehicles), trucks, and small equipment to clean and maintain the park facilities and grounds. The Senior Maintenance Aide may assist permanent park personnel with more technical and/or difficult tasks. This is a uniformed position, and the successful candidates will be required to purchase and wear a State Parks uniform.
The normal work hours are from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, up to four days per week including weekends, holidays and during special events. This position can work 189 days in a 12 consecutive month period or a maximum of 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months per California Code of Regulation 265.1. This position is designated as not telework eligible. Must be willing to work holidays and weekends.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
Possession of a valid driver's license of the appropriate class and a safe driving record as documented by the Department of Motor Vehicles within 60 days prior to appointment.
