About this Position
Facilities Management is looking for an energetic, skilled millwright to join our team.

This employee will build, repair, or redesign parts for the OSU Stillwater Campus GU, Auxiliary buildings and Residential Life buildings. Make repairs to pumps, air handling units (AHUs), air compressors, vacuum pumps, blowers, fans, and similar powered equipment. This employee will be responsible for ready blueprints, assembling parts, aligning and leveling equipment, using hoists and other lifting devices, welding, and performing rebuilds. They will need to be proficient in using various hand and power tools, rigging, and understanding mechanical systems.
Supports Mechanical Shops on miscellaneous projects. Must be proficient in the use of metalworking machines and tools to fabricate new machine components and repair defective components.
The employee in this position may be required to work overtime after 4pm, and shift work, including when the University is closed and/or other events after 5pm on weekdays, weekends and holidays when management deems necessary. the ability to perform snow and ice removal tasks and respond at any time of the day or night when scheduled by management, regardless of weather, will be required.
Perform other assigned duties related to operations, maintenance, and renovations to buildings and equipment, such as preventative maintenance, light duty carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, and other miscellaneous repairs and maintenance activities; and respond to emergency and urgent work.
Must use appropriate personal protective equipment as required (gloves, safety glasses, etc). These items are provided and not for personal use. this position regularly stands, bends, stoops, lifts above the shoulders, is heavy in manual labor, and requires the physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and in excess of 50 lbs occasionally.
Required Qualifications
High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
Three years of experience in machine shop operations on various metalworking machines, mechanical seal repairs/replacement, bearing repairs/replacement, and welding, cutting, and brazing.
Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
Have before hire and maintain after hire, a valid driver's license. A valid driver's license must be maintained for the operation of an OSU vehicle, which is required in the performance of job duties as assigned.
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
Ability to analyze mechanical problems and make repairs using good machine shop practices. Unique ability to make modifications when parts are obsolete or repairs cannot be made in conventional methods.

* Diagnoses, repairs and/or rebuilds to factory specifications: Mechanical, Electric, Hydraulic, and Air Brake Systems.
* All types of fuel systems, including computerized carburetors and fuel injection.
* All types of starting and electrical generating devices.
* Steering systems on all types of transportation and power operated equipment.
* Suspension systems on all cars, trucks, tractors, trailers and power operated equipment.

REQUIREMENTS
Fleet Technician Senior Qualifications:
* High School Diploma/GED and Certificate of completion in an Automotive or Diesel Technology program and 5 years experience as a Mechanic at a full service repair facility which includes diesel or hydraulic repairs; Or
* Associate's Degree in Automotive or Diesel Technology, and 5 years experience as a Mechanic at a full service repair facility which includes diesel or hydraulic repairs; Or
* High School Diploma/GED and 10 years as a Mechanic at a full service repair facility which includes diesel or hydraulic repairs.
Fleet Technician Journeyman Qualificiations:

WORKING CONDITIONS

Typical Functions
The functions performed in this job family will vary by level, unit and organization, but may include the following:

QUALIFICATIONS:
