Job purpose
We are looking for a Shop Service Technician to Join our growing team and help drive our customer service goals and objectives in the Field. Duties and responsibilities
* Ensures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures. Maintains a clean, organized work are free from Safety issues and concerns.
* Utilizes a variety of techniques and tools to inspect, assess, diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic malfunctions on a variety of heavy equipment applications
* Maintains accurate reports and information on equipment and repairs to ensure accurate billing and service logs.
* Overhauls and tests machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency
* Tests mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer's specifications
* Brings to the attention of the shop manager any additional work required on unit or visible signs of damage including out of service conditions and safety hazards.
* Cleans, lubricates, and performs preventative maintenance work on equipment and vehicles as required
* Keeps abreast of all changes in various models of equipment sold and serviced by the distributors to maintain and upgrade technical competencies and knowledge through in-house and external training sources.
* Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
* High School diploma and graduation from an accredited technical school in diesel engine/hydraulics/heavy equipment repair preferred but not required.
* Experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician/Mechanic required.
* Must have own tools.
* Volvo and/or other dealership or industry experience preferred.
* Skill in the use of a variety of diagnostic testing and tuning equipment.
* Working experience with computer systems and maintenance software preferred
* Advanced technical software application understanding with relevant industry experience highly desired.
* Strong organizational and customer service skills to ensure high level customer service
* Ability to work overtime when required
* Have excellent communication skills, verbal and written
* Ability to sit, stoop, kneel, push, climb, move, reach and work overhead, lift up to 60 lbs. and work in all weather conditions
Working conditions
The employee will generally be working in an field/shop environment. The employee may be required to wear appropriate PPE equipment. The employee could occasionally be exposed to extreme temperatures, fumes, or airborne particles. The noise level in the workplace is moderate.

Required Skills:

Job Summary:
The Well Operations Technician plays a critical role in the efficient and safe operation of oil and gas well sites. This position is responsible for monitoring production equipment, maintaining optimal well performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and completing field operations to support continuous production. Technicians in this role will perform both routine and complex tasks in remote field environments with minimal supervision. The position ensures that wells operate efficiently and that all fluids (oil, gas, and water) are accurately gauged, recorded, and managed to support environmental compliance and maximize output.
Essential Duties:
Monitor and record daily production readings including oil, gas, and water levels.
Gauge tanks, collect samples, and conduct bucket tests to determine fluid characteristics.
Perform daily inspections of equipment and well sites to identify leaks, malfunctions, or safety concerns.
Start, stop, and monitor pumping units, injection pumps, compressors, and separators.
Conduct maintenance on field equipment including engine service, valve lubrication, and fluid level checks.
Hand-start engine-driven equipment and troubleshoot issues in real-time.
Maintain accurate logs and electronic records of production data, maintenance activities, and safety checks.
Execute chemical treatment procedures to prevent scaling and corrosion.
Communicate with field foremen and environmental staff to report abnormalities and coordinate responses.
Adhere to all company and regulatory safety policies including spill response and H2S protocols.
Coordinate shutdowns and restart procedures in accordance with operational priorities.
Respond to call-outs, participate in a rotating weekend schedule, and be available for emergencies.

Job Summary:
The Well Operations Technician plays a critical role in the efficient and safe operation of oil and gas well sites. This position is responsible for monitoring production equipment, maintaining optimal well performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and completing field operations to support continuous production.
