The Opportunity: In this role, you will report to the Reliability Engineering Manager and will work closely with the Avantor's Clinical Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science. He/she interfaces with both management and union personnel from various levels. The Process Engineer works closely with manufacturing, understanding the processes and the cause-and effect-relationship of the manufacturing cycle.The Project Engineer is responsible for performing and/or leading a wide array of troubleshooting, continuous improvement and reliability centered maintenance and calibration programs in a pharmaceutical cGMP facility. The maintenance engineering group will work on initiatives to ensure equipment on lines are running efficiently, as well as laying out programs for maintenance PMs/Schedules and projects. The team has close ties to both Mechanical and Electrical maintenance members and will assist on issues that are escalated to an engineering level. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment in assigned areas runs effectively and efficiently. It may require the design of equipment tooling such as jigs and fixtures as needed. The Maintenance Engineer will write manufacturing and work instructions and manage projects on the line for upgrades and work with outside contractors. The plant can be hot in certain areas during warm months and uses oil and lubricant in processes. The role is first shift but can expect lots of overtime, especially during shutdowns and holidays. We're seeking an industrial maintenance mechanic to support a busy manufacturing facility on 2nd shift. Must enjoy troubleshooting, working independently and have strong technical skills. This person may specialize in one or more of the following areas but should have general knowledge in all: mechanical, electrical, electronics, HVAC, and hydraulics. What You'll Be Doing: Troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining buildings, machinery, and mechanical equipment for our metal-forming manufacturing facility. Diagnose cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective maintenance by starting devices to test their performance, observing mechanical devices in operation and listening to their sounds to locate causes of trouble, dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments, repairing and replacing defective parts and may install special functional and structural parts. Lubricate and clean parts and equipment and repairs and maintains equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturers' specifications using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments. Examine form and texture to parts to detect imperfections, inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. May set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. Apply basic electrical knowledge to test electrical equipment to determine causes for malfunction such as motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, solenoids, and other electrical equipment and components according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principals. Complete training on new and existing equipment and uses applicable reference material and at the direction of the supervisor may be required to use specialized reference material. Schedule: Typical schedule will be Friday to Sunday 5AM-5PM for Weekend Day Shift. Weekend Night Shift is 5PM-5AM.
