Reefer Mechanics will also be responsible for the documentation, completion, and to keep current the maintenance logs for all repairs and parts used daily. Schedule: Sunday -Thursday Third Shift ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel reefer equipment (THERMO KING & CARRIER TRAILER REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS, Reefer Microprocessors, etc.). Perform preventative maintenance within manufacturer standards. Mentor other maintenance shop personnel. Receive road calls, assign third party vendor, and work with business partners on plan of action. Utilize fleet maintenance software system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used. Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines. Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications. Other duties as assigned by manager. SUPERVISION: N/A RELATIONSHIPS Internal: All Fleet Technicians, Drivers, Coordinators and Manager. External: Dealer Service Managers. WORK ENVIRONMENT Onsite: The associate in this role is expected to perform assigned responsibilities inside a US Foods maintenance facility. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must have 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a Fleet Reefer/Refrigeration technician. TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certifications. Must be willing to travel and attend training provided by US Foods. Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to reefer equipment repairs. Successfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills. Must furnish own personal hand tools. Ability to read and understand technical and online service manuals. EDUCATION High school diploma or equivalent required. CERTIFICATIONS/TRAINING EPA 608 (Type 2 or Universal) & EPA 609 Certifications LICENSES Must possess a valid driver's license. Industrial Maintenance Technician Overview Must have basic knowledge of General Maintenance, Hydraulic Systems, Electrical and Electronic Systems, and Welding (TIG,MIG). Must be able to operate and repair at least 2 different types of forklifts. Technician must be able to work as a team or individually.
