Daily work activities will include manual labor and equipment operation directed towards swale, pipe, ditch, and canal maintenance projects. Duration of assignment is variable but staff in this position will have the opportunity to learn new skills and techniques as they relate to the maintenance of our city stormwater system while also being provided an opportunity for hands-on, real world evaluation towards potential full-time status as those openings arise. Employees in this classification function at entry level and are responsible for accomplishing a daily routine of general and preventative maintenance tasks to provide employees and the general public with an environmentally safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient public area.

Job Description: Responsible for overall operation of the commercial grounds maintenance project supervising a work crew of up 4 employees using gas powered lawn equipment to mow, edge, weed, blow, and remove debris at customers residence or place of business.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES OF THIS POSITION INCLUDE:
Manage a profitable commercial grounds maintenance project
Maintain customer service records and work schedules
Safely, transport, operate, and secure grounds maintenance equipment for its intended purposes
Supervise, transport, and train crew members assigned
Schedule assigned workers to work on a rotating basis
Provide outstanding customer service
Actively promote the service to potential customers
Maintain time cards for all personnel assigned and accurately report labor hours for payroll purposes
Operate gas powered mowing, edging, weeding, and blowing equipment
Perform equipment safety checks prior to use
Prepare the equipment for next day's use
Perform routine maintenance and upkeep on all equipment assigned
Promote a positive relationship with the onsite customer.
Possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license.
Enforce the use of all personal protective equipment required in performance of the job
Maintain all safety standards as set forth in the agency safety manual
Maintain all records and reports required by Human Resources
Report Directly to the Senior Project Manager
This position possesses the authority hire and fire personnel with consent of the Senior Project Manager
