This position is assigned to the Big Sur Sector maintenance program and covers many of the Big Sur area state parks. The primary reporting location is Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, but the position may be required to work at other locations throughout the sector as assigned and based on operational need.
Primary responsibilities are housekeeping duties including, but not limited to, cleaning restrooms, trash pick-up, graffiti removal, sand removal, and litter pick-up. This is a uniformed position, and the hired employee must abide by all applicable departmental uniform and grooming standards.
This position can work 189 days in a 12 consecutive month period or a maximum of 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months per California Code of Regulation 265.1. This position is designated as not telework eligible.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
Possession of a valid driver's license of the appropriate class and a safe driving record as documented by the Department of Motor Vehicles within 60 days prior to appointment. (A safe driving record is one free from convictions in the past two years for repeated moving violations or a single serious violation, such as drunk driving or reckless driving.)
State housing may be required. Special Requirement/Condition of Employment: Depending on the assigned location, the incumbent may be required to occupy state-owned housing to meet operational needs or may be offered state-owned housing if available. Qualifications:
Education:

Maintenance technician job in Monterey, CA
Under the leadership of the Assistant Director, this position is responsible for the scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance of a broad spectrum of medical equipment and other non-medical systems including microcomputer, telephone systems, and data communications systems. This is a senior level position and requires the ability to work without any supervision from inception to completion of most routine and emergency maintenance functions, as well as assigned projects.
Experience
This position requires a minimum of 3 years' experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician, preferably in a hospital environment.
Education
A.S. Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or military equivalent.
Licensure/Certifications
ICC, CBET Certification preferred but not required.
Other
This position requires being on-call and responding to emergency situations as deemed necessary by the facility.
