The contractor will be responsible for the proper repair and maintenance for a large fleet of forklifts and related equipment of various brands (predominately Raymond). The forklift fleet consists of a variety of electric, gas-, and diesel-powered units designed for interior and exterior building use. The contractor shall be responsible for maintaining a comprehensive maintenance schedule, obtaining approval for the schedule from appropriate government focal points, and adhering to the schedule in order to ensure all forklift units are mechanically ready for use and safe to operate. The contractor shall manage a spare parts inventory and make all levels of repairs when necessary. The contractor will also be responsible for repairing and maintaining pallet jacks and carts. Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities Schedules, prioritizes, inspects, and repairs forklifts, pallet jacks, and carts Determines, within prescribed value range, when a major component/ assembly is to be repaired, rebuilt, replaced or discarded Responsible for assisting with the purchasing of parts and services Required to maintain fleet and training vehicles; and prepares written estimates on cost and labor time for corrective repairs.
