Oversee and implement all maintenance related regulatory and environmental compliance requirements. Assume responsibility for all aspects of safety within the maintenance department. Perform Confined Space and Lockout / Tagout procedures where appropriate. Monitor training status of technicians and provide time for required training as needed. Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System. Partner with the Production Manager to develop, manage and maintain budget for building, equipment, capital expenditures and parts/labor. Train and develop maintenance partners. Perform other duties as assigned by leadership. Qualifications What we're looking for: High school and/or GED is preferred. Two-year technical degree in an appropriate background is preferred. Must be at least 21 years of age. Valid driver's license and a safe driving record are required. Must pass UniFirst's maintenance knowledge assessment to be eligible for employment. Knowledgeable in maintenance equipment. This includes wiring, electrical, mechanical, electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing required. Minimum of 3 years of work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment required. Applicable military experience will be considered. Beck St. Salt Lake City, UT 84116 Job Summary: Liberty Tire Recycling is looking for a Plant Maintenance Technician. As a Plant Maintenance Technician, you would be responsible for the day-to-day electrical and mechanical support for large industrial machines in our manufacturing facility. You will be maintaining and repairing a variety of industrial equipment, including shredding machines, granulators, and bucket elevators. This role requires a proactive approach to equipment maintenance, ensuring that all machinery operates efficiently and safely at our Salt Lake City, UT facility. Successful candidates must be able to understand, assess, troubleshoot, and refurbish different arrangements of pneumatic & electronic instrumentation, electrical applications as necessary. Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct preventive maintenance on industrial equipment and other machinery to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshooting and maintaining the electrical-mechanical machines in the manufacturing facility. Document actions, parts and time-usage to work orders. Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on company's equipment. Inspect and repair manufacturing machines as required. Keep detailed records of maintenance and repair work. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Collaborate with other team members to improve equipment efficiency and reliability. Fabricate and assemble metal parts by cutting, shaping, and welding components. Other duties as needed. Skills and Abilities: Proven experience as an Industrial technician, preferably in a recycling or manufacturing environment. Strong electrical knowledge and experience with industrial electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting. Certifications or technical training in mechanics and electrical systems is a plus Education and Experience: 2-3 years experience in the tire recycling or manufacturing industry Minimum of 2 years of welding experience in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial setting (highly preferred). A minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Maintenance electrician in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Knowledge of metal properties and appropriate welding techniques. Proficient in MIG, TIG, Stick, and/or flux-core welding. In Depth knowledge of electrical systems, machinery and circuitry. Electrical Maintenance Technician Job activities include: installation, maintenance, testing, calibration and commissioning of electrical systems and components. Electrical Maintenance Technicians will work on low, medium and high voltage systems to ensure electrical maintenance is completed safely, on schedule and within equipment manufacturer's recommendations. Duties include: Installation, maintenance, testing, calibration and commissioning of electrical systems and components. Act as “Employee in Charge” on some jobs, ensuring that jobs are efficiently planned and safely completed. Perform other assignments as required. Some supervision required. Read and interpret one line drawing, schematics drawings and other service documents, including manufacturer's instructions and manuals. Responsible for maintaining personal support equipment, PPE, hand tools and test equipment. Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others in your assigned work area by ensuring understanding and compliance with safety policies, practices and procedures. Perform point to point verification of control wiring. Perform equipment switching, isolation, LOTO, zero volt check and grounding. Perform maintenance, tests and inspections on the following equipment: high voltage SF6 circuit breakers, medium voltage vacuum circuit breakers, low voltage power circuit breakers, switchboards, panel boards, ground systems, motor starters, variable frequency drive's, low and medium voltage cables, low, medium and high voltage switches, ground fault systems, isolation transformers, two-winding transformers, power transformers, instrument transformers, automatic transfer switches, static transfer switches, sectionalized switches, batteries, and all equipment associated with low and medium voltage substation and switchgear systems. Working knowledge of NETA MTS testing specifications Accurately record field data for all tests and inspections utilizing Power DB and Maximo. Assist with start-up services on switchgear and electrical systems up through 138 kV. Conduct safety meetings as required. Ensure compliance with DeanFluor environmental and safety policies. Maintain strong team and client relationships. Requirements High school diploma or GED coupled with A minimum of 10 years of progressive and hands-on experience in an environment of similar proportions and mission as the assigned area of responsibility. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to efficiently schedule and execute work in a dynamic environment with large numbers of equipment. Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex technical instructions, plans blueprints, and schematic diagrams. Strong working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, NETA maintenance practices, maintenance and supply procedures, and quality control procedures. Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex electrical systems, perform damage assessments, estimate maintenance, parts, and manpower requirements, diagnose malfunctions, and employ testing and inspection techniques. A minimum of five years' experience in facilities maintenance with thorough understanding of electrical systems, controls, generators, and life safety systems, including five years related experience in data center or complex mission critical environments Ability to organize and prioritize workload with minimal supervision Ability to work in confined spaces and on ladders, and to lift equipment over six feet above ground Must conform to all city, state and federal licensing and certification requirements. Possess an active License (determined by the location of services) Lifting and physical exertion required Perform other related duties as requested Must be capable of achieving and maintaining security clearance Abilities Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period of time.
