Maintenance Truck Driver Job Description

Job DescriptionThe Van Driver will use company vehicles to transport our residents to local shopping, activities, doctor appointments and places of employment. Driver will need to be able to safely drive a 15-passenger van that does not require a CDL. When not conducting transportation, the Driver will maintain company vehicles and assist facility maintenance personnel with routine maintenance duties and work orders.

This is a full time position, very flexible hours are required to accommodate resident needs as they arise.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
· Provides local area transportation to residents as scheduled, ensuring that they are delivered and picked up on-time to their appointments.
· Safely operates company vehicles while ensuring passengers utilize all safety requirements such as seat belts and maintain safe behavior.
· Performs routine maintenance checks on company vehicles prior to using.
· Ensures all maintenance and safety inspections are completed on schedule.
· Works with facility maintenance personnel when not on scheduled vehicle trips.
· Communicates with Maintenance Manager for needed technical advice, product information, research and quality assurance guidance.
· Advises Maintenance Manager of the overall condition of company vehicles and equipment.
· Assists with Fire Safety and Disaster Preparedness Evacuation procedures.
· Interacts with residents and staff in a professional and courteous.

Educational Requirements and Experience:

· High School Diploma or Equivalent.
· 5 years driving experience.
· Must express or demonstrate an interest in working with a special needs population.
· Must be capable of reading and writing the English language.
· Must demonstrate a warm, outgoing personality.
· Must have basic knowledge and mechanical ability to perform routine maintenance and repair on mechanical and electrical equipment and possess a basic knowledge of construction principles.
· Must possess a current Texas Driver’s License and maintain an approved driving record at all times.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speaking the primary language of the residents.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Computer and Smartphone Skills:

Ability to use Microsoft Windows.
Ability to use multiple software applications on a computer and on smart device.

Competencies:

Ability to operate a car/truck and maintain a valid driver’s license. Ability to operate general office equipment.
Ability to patch drywall, paint, repair flooring, doors and equipment.

Pay $13 hour depending on experience

**Position Title:** Truck Maintenance Lube

**Department:** Maintenance

**Location:** Greeley, CO

**Reports to:** Shop Foreman

**Principle Responsibilities:**

+ Perform DOT inspections

+ Perform service and repairs for trucks and trailers.

+ Ensure lubrication and maintenance is performed as required by manufacturer

+ Assist other technicians when needed

+ Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with drivers and technicians.

+ Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications:**

+ Must be able to lubricate and perform preventative maintenance on class 8 tractors and trailers

+ Be a team player, hard worker, dependable and reliable, flexible.

+ Must be able to obtain brake certification and have qualifications to perform DOT inspections.

+ Must have adequate tools to perform maintenance tasks assigned

+ Must have mechanical knowledge of tractors and trailers to perform minor repairs

+ An active CDLis desired but not required.

ChildServe is seeking a Driver who would be responsible for the transportation of supplies to all ChildServe facility locations as needed; function as needed as driver to transport residents; transport and load/unload supplies. + Must maintain a driving record that meets facility and insurance approval.

+ Deliver and unload supplies to ChildServe subsidiaries as needed.

+ Provide the timely transporting of residents to appointments.

+ Assure that appropriate records are kept of all trips.

+ Keep vehicles fueled, cleaned and ready for use.

+ Regularly check vehicles for general condition, noting minor upkeep needs.

+ Maintain service records on all vehicles and coordinate with supervisor in scheduling for outside maintenance.

+ Responsible for proper disposal of used oil, etc.

+ Performs light maintenance as needed and directed by supervisor while not transporting or driving

What You'll Need

+ High school diploma or GED.

+ Required to certify a list of all traffic violations every 12 months.

+ Ability to maintain the confidentiality of client information.

+ Self motivated.

+ Must be able to assist in physically loading and unloading supplies, equipment, and residents from vehicles.

+ Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, transfer, or otherwise move 50 pounds independently.

+ Willing to obtain a CDL Class C license if needed in the future.

+ Must be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, read traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, to make entries on reports and records, and readily learn location of ChildServe subsidiaries and various physicians/clinics frequented by ChildServe residents.

+ Patience and tact in dealing with residents, staff, parents and others in the community.

+ Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing and speaking the English language
