These services are critical to maintaining regulatory compliance, patient safety, and operational readiness within IHS healthcare facilities. Duties will encompass preventive maintenance, emergency repair, installation, and documentation of work through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Place of Performance/Hours of Work The full-time Maintenance Worker will provide services in support of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, except for recognized federal holidays. Some evenings, nights, weekends or other non-standard duty hours may be required to meet operational needs. Responsibilities The Maintenance Worker shall perform a full range of duties in plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical repair, and equipment maintenance. Perform general building maintenance tasks across multiple trades, including plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and grounds work. Conduct routine repairs on refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating systems under supervision of higher-graded staff. Qualifications The Maintenance Worker shall have a minimum of 3 years of experience at positions of similar context and complexity as this one. Knowledge across multiple trades, with emphasis in plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems. General trade skills across painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC support. Ability to follow detailed instructions and progress to independent work with minimal supervision. Must hold a valid New Mexico state driver's license. Working under minimal supervision as a member of a self-directed work team, this is a multi-craft position that may perform machine repairs and general non-licensed maintenance work, as well as support other licensed trades as directed. General maintenance, including minor duties in carpentry, painting, and sheet metal, may also be required.
