As the Maintenance and Utilities Technician V, you will perform advanced maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repairs on a variety of critical plant equipment. You will ensure the smooth operation of manufacturing and facilities equipment, contributing to the efficiency and reliability of Takeda's operations.
How you will contribute:
Perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance on:
HVAC, chillers, boilers, air handlers, refrigeration systems, compressors, pumps, water systems
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair control systems, instrumentation, and mechanical systems
Maintain refrigerant logs per EPA/SCAQMD standards
Execute and close work orders (JDE system), including required documentation and Change Control

What you bring to Takeda:
High School diploma or GED required
8+ years of relevant industrial maintenance experience required
2-year technical certificate (HVAC, Utilities, Building Trades) or military equivalent; Class 3 Industrial Wastewater Certification strongly desired. Automation/controls experience (DeltaV, Honeywell) highly preferred

Important Considerations:

The purpose of this classification is to perform various maintenance, landscape, and construction tasks in City parks, playing fields, and recreational facilities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Perform a variety of landscaping duties; mow grass; plant flowers and shrubs; weed eats around signs and fence lines; edge curb lines; clear leaves, tree limbs and other debris from park areas; spread and haul ground cover, dirt, or mulch; spray weed killer and fertilizer; prune trees and shrubs; weed flower beds; spread grass seed; services irrigation systems; groom ball fields; remove snow and ice, etc.
Perform installation, maintenance, and upkeep tasks for various parks facilities, courts, fencing, and other structures: install and repair roofs on park buildings and structures; perform light plumbing and electrical repairs and installations; perform general construction; repair and maintains parks, picnic or other public facilities; repair sports and playground equipment; paint interiors and exteriors; clean and restock park restrooms; empty trash cans, clean floors, etc.
Assist with special projects and seasonal work; maintain ball fields; install and remove decorations, tents and dance floors; set up chairs and tables; clear parks areas of debris following special events; remove and replace staging materials from sites as needed.
Maintain inventory of equipment, parts and supplies; initiate orders materials and equipment needed for each job; perform routine safety inspections on equipment; advise supervisor of needed repairs.
Communicate with supervisor, City employees, the public, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
Prepare or complete various forms, reports, work orders, logs, accident reports, inspection reports, or other documents.
Receive various forms, reports, work orders, application instructions or other documents; review, complete, process, forward or retain as appropriate.
Operate a variety of equipment and machinery to complete tasks including tractors, finish mowers, brush hog, trimmers, blowers, sprayers, spreaders, aerators, split seeders, chain saws, brush chipper, ball field stripers, chalkers, power saws, hand saws, drills, power tools, miscellaneous hand tools, pickup trucks, dump trucks, snow plows, salt spreaders, hand spreaders, bobcat, backhoe, golf cart, utility vehicle, and other equipment as needed to complete essential duties.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by some experience in maintenance, landscaping, custodial or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. This person in this position is responsible for the general maintenance and cleaning in an assigned city park or area. Duties include assisting in the daily routine maintenance of parks, athletic fields, golf course, and park facilities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Collects and disposes of trash and debris on City Park property;
Mows grass, picks up leaves and assists with snow removal as season dictates;
Performs general golf course set up for daily play.
Utilizes equipment to perform maintenance duties throughout all City Parks, athletic fields and the golf course.
Performs other related duties as required.
Maintains athletic fields, tennis courts and basketball courts within the Parks Department.
Assists in irrigation repairs at the athletic fields and golf course.

Park Facilities

Monitors hallways and grounds to ensure security as well as cleanliness;
Reports any repairs required for safety or security reasons;

Sets up and break down meeting rooms, studios, and ballrooms for upcoming events
Provide additional support for park maintenance, recreation assistants, and management.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge of materials commonly used in construction, maintenance and repair activities as related to assigned areas;
Knowledge of, or ability to learn, standard cleaning methods, turfgrass maintenance practices. and operation of equipment used in park maintenance.
