    Title: Maintenance/Driver Reports to: Building Services Supervisor Purpose: The Maintenance Worker/ Driver will perform maintenance and repairs for assigned facilities including minor plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, vehicle maintenance, janitorial and general grounds maintenance. They will also be responsible for driving a company vehicle to shuttle clients and supplies. Duties/Responsibilities: Inspects and identifies equipment, machines and tools in need of repair. Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs. Responds to and completes on-line maintenance requisitions as may be applicable and as directed by supervisor daily. Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures. Performs routine maintenance on building systems. Examples may include changing air filters, inspecting belts, hoses and connections on the HVAC equipment Janitorial work including the cleaning of the restrooms, offices, general areas and grounds of the properties as well as assisting with general upkeep of the facilities including the removal of trash. Provides cleaning and floor care throughout the agency facilities Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs, maintenance or inventory. Deliveries of supplies, mail, boxes, files and records. Minor moves including the ability to relocate furniture. Maintenance and upkeep of the vehicles including troubleshooting of problems and identifying needed repairs. Ability to do minor repairs and maintenance on the agency vehicles like change a light bulb or wipers and check the fluid levels. Snow removal including salting the walks, shoveling and using the snow blower. Completes special projects as assigned Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to follow instructions from supervisor or building services manager. Knowledge of general carpentry and repair. Knowledge of basic plumbing and electrical. Knowledge of janitorial and housekeeping. Ability to use hand tools, power tools and lawn & garden tools. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Basic knowledge of Chicago area geography and navigation preferred Attention to detail Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. 2 years of experience in facility maintenance preferred. On-the-job training offered. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods standing and walking. Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces. Ability to lift a minimum of 25lbs Other Requirements: Valid, unencumbered driver's license Current and valid state required automobile insurance
