Borinquen Medical Centers is based in Miami, Florida and is seeking to hire a full-time Maintenance Worker to join our team. The maintenance worker will be responsible to perform routine, sometimes heavy, manual labor and assists skilled and semi-skilled workers in one of the following divisions of BMC: Building and/or Maintenance. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Support staff in assigned project-based work. Maintain the overall condition of the main building, and grounds. Perform inspection of the premises and ensure that any hazardous conditions are immediately taken care of. Performs both major and minor repair work around the building such as repairing locks and installing window blinds. Replace broken windows and door locks. Ensure proper waste management procedures are carried out. Move furniture and equipment upon instruction. Make sure that the parking area and grounds are free of leaves or trash. Replacing broken fixtures, patch cracks in concrete pavement or drywall, and paint and repair walls worn and surfaces. Emptying trash cans, receptacles, and cleaning windows. Nature of Work: This is manual semiskilled work in assisting in a variety of the maintenance trades. Work involves performing specific general maintenance duties as directed. An employee in this class would be required to have a basic knowledge of several trades maintenance skills such as carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing and masonry in order to perform the duties.
