Requirements:
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a carpenter, preferably in repair and maintenance
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and materials
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent and two years of carpentry experience; OR
Completion of vocational or apprenticeship program in carpentry/building trades; OR
Three years of experience in carpentry under the supervision of a skilled carpenter; OR
A satisfactory combination of experience required.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods standing, bending, stooping, and reaching.
Must have a full range of physical motion as required to properly operate manual and electric power tools.
Must have balance necessary to traverse and work on scaffolding and roofs.
Will work in a variety of environments and weather with exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals in both indoor and outdoor construction and carpentry.
Must be able to regularly lift and carry 50 pounds and 100 pounds occasionally.

Job Description
As a Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible to coordinate a variety of services to assure buildings, grounds, and properties are always well maintained and in good repair. In this position you will maintain condition of the properties with regards to all aspects of electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC and painting work. This position will personally complete maintenance and remodeling tasks and with support of the maintenance supervisor will arrange to have these same items done by outside contractors as needed. As a Maintenance Engineer it is essential that you manage your time effectively with operations to keep up with tight deadlines and many other demands at one time. This is an unlimited driving position, mileage will be paid per Federal reimbursement standard, this position should expect to be working 2-4 sites per day.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
At least two years of building maintenance experience, including heating, plumbing, electrical, and general repair
Ability to evaluate cost-effectiveness and implement preventative maintenance measures
Strong decision-making and communication skills
Responsible, mature, flexible, and able to work independently and as part of a team
Must be comfortable working with individuals living in our group homes with various disabilities.
High school diploma required
Preferred Skills
Relevant certifications in maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or related areas
Experience with drywall repair
Finish carpentry skills
Additional Information
HOURS WORKED
Full time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Overtime may be necessary on occasion. Schedule must be flexible to accommodate special needs and projects.
If schedule adjustments are necessary, arrangements should be made with the maintenance supervisor.
