Position Summary Facility Workers are responsible for ensuring set-up and tear downs for events are completed according to specifications in a safe and timely manner. They are also responsible for basic maintenance and upkeep of both the building and property. Facilities workers must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he/she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skill and abilities. This role pays an hourly rate of $16.97-$17.56 (per CBA). Benefits as per the union agreement. This position will remain open until April 10, 2026. About the Venue PeoplesBank Arena is Connecticut's premier destination for sports & entertainment. The 15,000+ seat downtown arena is home to the eleventh-time National Champion UConn Women's Basketball team and the six-time National Champion UConn Men's Basketball team. Led by Hall of Fame basketball Head Coach Geno Auriemma and Dan Hurley, the Men's & Women's basketball programs have established themselves as national powerhouses. PeoplesBank Arena is also home to the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, the primary developmental affiliate of the New York Rangers. PeoplesBank Arena entertains millions of visitors annually with a variety of concerts, family shows, ice-skating spectaculars, consumer events, and trade shows throughout the season. The venue has played host to an extraordinary roster of world-renowned artists, including Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Pearl Jam, Black Eyed Peas, Britney Spears, Drake, and many others. PeoplesBank Arena will continue to be the center of sports and entertainment for Hartford and the State of Connecticut for years to come. Responsibilities Arrives for work on time for each scheduled shift, in uniform and ready to work Must be able to work overnight hours, weekends and holidays Must be able to take both verbal and written direction Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. on a frequent basis Ability to stand on feet for up to 8 hours at a time, kneel, stoop, climb stair, and reach/lift above head in conjunction with conversion tasks Ability to safely and efficiently operate hand tools Performs set-up and tear down duties Performs daily operations and general building maintenance during non-event days Performs general landscaping of the property Works safely, quickly and efficiently to meet all deadlines Maintains a positive, outgoing demeanor Ability to work independently and in a team environment All other tasks assigned by Supervisor Qualifications Prior conversion or event experience preferred Prior landscaping or snow removal experience preferred OSHA 10 preferred Prior forklift training preferred Strengthened by our Differences.
