Must be able to work to repair equipment back to service during emergency breakdowns. Competencies: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form. Physical Demands: Be able to work 12-hour shifts, 8a-8p or 8p-8am, rotating: 36 hours one week, 48 hours the next. Ability to work overtime when needed. Conducts maintenance and construction tasks for various parks and facilities: resurfaces and renovates playgrounds, fields, and courts; paints buildings, equipment, and parking lots; repairs and assembles fences; conducts light plumbing. Operates or uses various equipment, power tools, hand tools, and supplies in order to complete work assignments. Communicates with supervisor, other employees, the public, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review the status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
