The Utility Maintenance Technician specializes in operating jetter trucks, combo vacuum/jetter trucks, and closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems for the inspection, maintenance, and cleaning of wastewater collection systems. The Utility Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in identifying and resolving issues in the wastewater collection system, contributing to the overall environmental health and public safety of the community. About the City of Grand Junction Wastewater Services Division: The wastewater division at the City of Grand Junction is responsible for managing and treating the city's wastewater. The Persigo wastewater treatment plant is the largest treatment works in the western rocky mountain region, with a capacity of 12.5 million gallons per day (mgd). This facility uses advanced technologies such as bio trickling filters for odor control, primary clarifiers, aeration basins, anaerobic digesters, UV disinfection, and an effluent diffuser to treat wastewater to a high standard. What We're Looking For: Two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in general labor, maintenance, and/or repair and construction of water distribution or sewer collection systems. High School Diploma or G.E.D. Possession of, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire, a valid Colorado Class “A” Commercial driver's license. Possession of, or ability to obtain within five (5) years of hire, Collections or Distributions IV certifications, depending upon certification level at time of hire. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
