Primary Purpose:

Provides professional installation skills related to installing system office furniture, system laboratory furniture, and to assist the Facilities staff in providing a professional and safe work environment for employees. Assists with Laboratory and office furniture installations and equipment moves.

Essential Functions:

Layout and installation of system office furniture, system laboratory furniture, and movable wall systems.

Reconfiguration and moving systems furniture and case goods.

Assemble inventory and communicate changes.

Install such items as partition electrical raceways and ergonomic tools.

Oversee contract installers on large projects.

Assist on physical moves.

Manage inventory of furniture in storage as well as new furniture orders.

Work independently.

Continually work with and assist other tradesmen.

Read and interpret blueprints.

Recording and keeping an electronic inventory.

Performs special projects as directed by the Facilities Manager.

Must work effectively with all levels of management, contractors, government officials, and ARUP employees.

Other duties as assigned.

Physical and Other Requirements:

Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.

Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Communicate: Frequently and effectively communicate with others.

PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.

ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.

Must be 21 years old.

Valid Utah Driver's License: 1) No moving violations within the previous two years 2) No alcohol/drug-related violations on record with the Driver's License Division

Demonstrated skill in the use of hand and power tools (e.g., drills, saws, grinders)

Vocational training in Carpentry, Systems Furniture Installation, or plumbing
Basic handyperson skills, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical aptitude, systems furniture installation

We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to perform preventive maintenance and repair procedures on DolEx Branches, performs variety of skilled duties in one or more of the building trades; such as, painting, carpentry, minor electrical, minor construction, cleaning other recognized crafts. Candidate can be based out of either NY, NJ, CT or MA.

Essential Job Functions:

Inspect facilities, perform routine or preventive maintenance, and repair as needed. This includes but is not limited to: painting, wall repair, lamp replacement, moderate plumbing, electrical and other mechanical repairs.
Respond to emergencies and provide temporary or lasting repairs as the situation dictates.
Operate hand and power tools and other machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
Transport equipment and/or tools between locations.
Oversee booth construction
Set up DolEx image in new stores/booths, hang banners, posters in branch locations.
Clean up and set up for marketing events for the whole region
Support Helps Desk to troubleshooting work orders
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent
2+ years of practical experience with maintenance generalist background

Language Skills:

Requires at a minimum, the ability to read, write, communicate and interpret information in Spanish, Bilingual (Spanish/English), preferred. Employee must demonstrate the ability to interact tactfully and positively with co-workers, management, customers and public.

Knowledge Of:

Considerable knowledge of building maintenance
Considerable knowledge of tools and equipment used in construction and maintenance

Working knowledge of building systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing)

Working knowledge of paints and painting techniques

Working knowledge of basic math

Considerable knowledge of safe driving practices

Ability to:

Work independently or without supervision
Use common courtesy and tact when dealing with employees, vendors and others
Apply knowledge to achieve high quality work within established time requirements
Determine the most cost effective method of repair
Manage time to maximize productivity
Communicate problems and solutions to supervisor, customers and peers.
Find creative approaches to repairs when conventional methods and practices fail or are not appropriate

Work Environment

Work is performed both indoors and outdoors and in weather extremes. The position requires extensive driving from branch to branch, working in high/precarious places and tight quarters. Regularly exposed to chemicals and solvents. While performing this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit and talk or hear, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.

Responsibilities

• Painting, hanging drywall, and repairing drywall as needed.
• Changing light bulbs, replacing fixtures, and performing similar minor electrical tasks.
• Plumbing work including opening clogged drains, repairing leaks, and performing other simple plumbing jobs.
• Simple carpentry tasks, such as installing shelves, hooks, or closet rods
• Lawn maintenance including mowing, removing weeds and brush, etc.
• Ensuring tools and equipment are in working order and keeping maintenance room in neat condition.
• Assists with loading or unloading trucks of maintenance parts and supplies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years' previous experience in general maintenance/repair required.
• Previous experience with fire and boiler heat systems a plus.
• Must have a clean driving record. This position requires driving a company vehicle.

Physical Requirements

• Requires bending, stooping, and the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, squatting, kneeling, pushing and pulling.
• Standing and walking 100% of the time.
• Must be able to work outside in all types of weather.
