Maintain maintenance logs and records of repairs, inspections, and service history. Utilize predictive maintenance tools to identify potential failures before they occur. Compliance & Safety: Work with safety manager to obtain the required state or local permits/certification, according to maintenance department use. Maintain current validity of all permits/certification. Ensure maintenance operations comply with OSHA, NFPA, and other safety regulations. Enforce company safety policies and conduct routine safety audits. Participate in accident investigations and implement corrective actions as needed. Inventory & Budget Management: Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate orders to minimize downtime. Assist in budgeting and cost control for maintenance activities. Work with vendors and contractors to source materials and services. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Work closely with production and engineering teams to optimize equipment performance. Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings. Support capital projects and equipment installations. Summary of responsibilities: Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and repair with precision measuring and testing instruments. Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts and using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. Ensures the proper functioning of mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic equipment by troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and calibrating industrial equipment and test equipment throughout Stationary GSE in accordance with approved manuals and procedures.     Job Details Bronx, NY Full Time $43,000.00 - $46,000.00 Salary/year Job Posting Date(s) 01/30/2025Description The Maintenance Worker is needed to perform upkeep tasks such as repairs and cleaning. They will be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and TRC Shelter building systems. In addition to this the Maintenance worker will ensure the facilities are tidy and functional and meeting ORR and OCFS standards GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES Fix and maintain mechanical equipment and appliances. Light plumbing work Paint units (touch up as needed and paint dept yearly) Strip and wax floors every 6 months. Repair flooring. Responsible to make sure all grounds are safe year-round. Work with Senior Unit Supervisor to conduct fire drills. Inspect all fire extinguishers and make sure they are up to date. Responsible to assure all units are child proof. Carry out the job responsibilities in a professional manner. Complete all ORR and Abbott House required training. Mandated Reporter. Participates in individual and department supervision. Complete all Mandated ORR & Abbott House Trainings on a timely basis. Any other related duties as required. Communication - The Maintenance Worker needs to be able to speak, read and write fluently in the English language Writing - The Maintenance Worker must be able to write in the English language using correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc. Driving - The Maintenance Worker must have a valid Driver's License and a clean driving record. Lifting - The Maintenance Worker may frequently lift 0-25 lbs., occasionally lift 25-50 lbs., and rarely lift over 50 lbs. Push/Pull - The Maintenance Worker may frequently push/pull 0-25 lbs. of force, occasionally push/pull 26-45 lbs. force, and rarely push/pull over 45 lbs. Sitting, Standing and Walking - The Maintenance Worker will be required to sit, stand and walk throughout the work day. Stooping -The Maintenance Worker may occasionally stoop. This is defined as bending body downward by bending spine at the waist. Kneeling -The Maintenance Worker may occasionally kneel. This is defined as bending legs at knees to come to rest on knee(s). Crouching - The Maintenance Worker may occasionally crouch. This is defined as bending body downward and forward by bending spine and legs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate due to talk and movement of the program participants and other co- workers.
