The mission of Facilities Management and Building Construction at the Florida Department of Corrections is to provide a safe, secure, and efficient environment for staff, inmates, and visitors. This is achieved through the effective management, maintenance, and construction of correctional facilities, ensuring they meet all regulatory standards and support the department's overall mission of public safety and rehabilitation.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
This working position is responsible for the general maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair of plumbing, electrical, cabinetry/carpentry, masonry, welding, HVAC, drywall, roofing, and associated systems necessary to operate a major institution.
Responsible for general and preventive maintenance, and repair of various systems including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and more.
Provides on-the-job training to supervised inmates in trades related to maintenance and repair tasks.
Performs tests, maintains logs, and keeps records for equipment as per Department guidelines.
Plans, organizes, and requisitions necessary parts for maintenance tasks, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
Prepares reports and maintains custody and control of assigned inmates, participating in departmental training as required.

What You Will Be Doing This position requires rotational OCONUS deployments. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Responsibilities:
React to emergencies that happen before, during, and after your regular work shifts
Work with a variety of tools hammers and screwdrivers, indicators and edge finders, drills, wrenches, and other maintenance tools of the trade
Take care of guest complaints regarding building maintenance and troubleshoot issues
Work in collaboration with other technicians who will assist you with a variety of maintenance tasks
Follow all engineering safety rules and regulations
Maintain all of the hotel's equipment and preventative maintenance plans
Create an available channel of communication between you and other staff, including managers and department heads
Qualifications:
Applicants must have 2-4 years of experience in maintenance
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent GED
Stellar communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are needed
You should have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Driver's license and outstanding driving record is necessary
