GENERAL PURPOSE:
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs (electrical, mechanical and fabrication).
The base pay range for this role is $25.96 - $35.70. The base pay range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on mechanical material handling equipment, including transportation conveyors, sortation systems, and forklifts.
• Perform maintenance projects as assigned on: conveyor systems; to include installation, removal, and process improvement changes.
• Perform emergency mechanical repairs to failed material handling systems.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled repairs to facility equipment.
• Identify and locate required repair parts for failed systems.
• Maintain accurate record keeping such as: work orders, time sheets, and parts request.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Must have command of basic manual hand tools, powered hand tools as in drills, grinders, and saws. Have the ability to weld and utilize a cutting torch. Must possess knowledge of basic facility repairs as in painting, minor plumbing, and lighting. Must also possess knowledge of spare parts procedures and inventory control.
• Ability to utilize and be certified in the operation of forklifts, powered pallet jacks, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Summary

Essential Job Functions
Responsible for maintaining building facilities using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to facilitate Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
Collaborates with other technicians to complete tasks and support the Environmental Health & Safety team.
Performs maintenance tasks involving electrical wiring, pneumatics, PLCs, servo motors, inventory management, and spare parts to execute scheduled preventive and unscheduled general maintenance activities.
Install new electrical circuits, ensuring compliance with safety protocols such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Hot Work, Arc Flash, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance (PMs) and unscheduled repairs, including troubleshooting electronic circuits and PLCs using schematics and OEM manuals.
Perform mechanical and parameter adjustments, dismantle machines for repairs or PMs, and coordinate with technical support, both internally and externally, for CNC machines and production equipment.
Assist in developing and reviewing new PMs, procedures, and policies.
Execute work orders (W/O) and coordinate with outside vendors for equipment maintenance.
Maintain functionality of emergency lighting, fire pump systems, alarms, extinguishers, and eyewash stations.
Comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.

The reporting location for this position is Crystal Cove State Park in Laguna Beach, CA. This position will work under the supervision of Park Maintenance Supervisor.
The Maintenance Aide, on a temporary or seasonal basis only, performs unskilled manual labor in cleaning up and maintaining State property, and does other related work. The normal shift is from 7:00 am to 3:30pm. This position performs the following duties: Inspects and cleans restrooms, warehouses, and State facilities. Cleaning includes toilets, urinals, lavatories, sinks, ceilings, walls, floors, drains, and doors. Also picks up litter, empties trash cans, sweeps walkways and inside buildings, washes windows, removes graffiti, vacuums carpeting and floor surfaces, dusts inside buildings, changes lights, removes refuse to prepare or maintain State property, reports needed repairs and hazards to Lead person or Supervisor, assists with special event projects, rakes, shovels, removes brush, waters shrubs and trees, cuts lawn, hoes brush, loads and unloads boxes, washes garbage cans and works on garbage pickup crew. Inspects, cleans and maintains light vehicles including trucks, electric carts, Gators, lawn mowers and equipment. Complete and fills out forms, including supply requisitions and Time Reports, as needed in performance of duties. The purchase and wearing of a State Park uniform is required and State Park grooming standards must be met.
The position may work up to 1500 hours within a consecutive 12 months. This position is designated as not telework eligible.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
Possession of a valid driver's license of the appropriate class and a safe driving record as documented by the Department of Motor Vehicles within 60 days prior to appointment. The Department

The Position
The City is seeking to fill multiple part-time Maintenance Aide positions for various shifts within the Public Works Streets and Parks Maintenance Divisions. Under general supervision, this position will assist in a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled maintenance duties, which may include, but is not limited to custodial service, landscape and park maintenance, street maintenance and graffiti abatement. Candidates must have the availability to work a flexible schedule.
This position will be required to work a varied shift including non-traditional hours, nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the department, emergency response, special events, neighborhood watch meetings, community group meetings, and City Council meetings.
Essential Duties

Position requires sitting, standing, walking on level and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping, and making repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties. The position also requires both near and far vision when inspecting work and operating assigned equipment. The need to lift, carry, and push tools, equipment, and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds or more is also required. Additionally, the incumbent in this outdoor position works in all weather conditions, including wet, hot, and cold. The incumbent may use cleaning and lubricating chemicals, which may expose the employee to fumes or airborne particles, and the incumbents may be exposed to mechanical and electrical hazards. The nature of the work also requires the incumbent to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, work at heights above 20 feet; use power and noise producing tools and equipment, drive motorized vehicles and heavy equipment, and often work with constant interruptions. The incumbent may be required to respond to after hours emergency call-outs and perform routine standby duties.
