Maintenance Mechanic (Night AND Day Shift)

The primary role of the Maintenance Mechanic is to provide competent & effective Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance support to the Plant and Facility operations in a safe manner. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, adjusting and repairing of plant machinery to meet industry standards while ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies, including but not limited to USDA, OSHA, FDA, EPA and Local Government. The position will require a flexible schedule focusing on preventive maintenance and timely repairs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following list that follows is representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:
2+ years of experience working in the food manufacturing industry.
4 years of experience working as an experienced level maintenance mechanic.
PLC experience is a plus
Able to work rotation 12-hour shift including weekends and some overtime and occasionally.
Ability to follow manufacturing specifications and schematics.
Knowledge of food grade aluminum and stainless-steel welding techniques.
Complete knowledge of fabrication techniques.
Electrical knowledge and packing machinery experience a plus.

These positions are responsible for performing roadway maintenance work, roadway striping, grass cutting, tree trimming and snow removal. The Maintenance Worker/Driver I will work out of an assigned District located throughout St. Louis County. Training to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (Class A CDL) will be provided during the initial period of employment.
There are openings for full time positions. The work schedule will be typically Monday - Friday 7:00 - 3:30 with mandatory 12 hour snow shifts. The starting salary for the Maintenance Worker I will be $18.20 per hour. The Maintenance Driver I position which requires a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) will have a starting salary of $18.80 per hour. There will be an additional $6 per hour while performing snow removal.

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A MAINTENANCE WORKER II - STREETS
As part of our Street Department, you will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance and repair of city streets and related infrastructure. Generally, your schedule will be daytime hours Monday through Friday, with required shifts during winter street clearing events.
Other duties and responsibilities include:
* Repairing and maintaining City streets, sidewalks, signs and related infrastructure, including repairing damages caused by construction projects or snow removal.
* Operating a variety of equipment, including dump trucks, backhoes, concrete saws, street sweepers, and chain saws.
* Assisting with concrete removal and repair, including finishing concrete, patching asphalt and repairing sidewalks.
* Setting up safe work zones and transporting equipment and supplies to and from job sites.

Examples of Duties
